摘要: A method of achieving process-direction sub-raster magnification adjustment using non-redundant overwriting. The raster imager provides overwriting while the image path provides non-redundant data for each pass according to the desired magnification adjustment. The same laser power level can be used for the multiple writes, or optionally, it may be varied to further improve spatial resolution of the adjustment.

摘要: A reflex-type digital offset printing system includes four single-pass, single-color digital imaging systems arranged along a print medium feed path, and an image server that utilizes a positional clock to implicitly synchronize the imaging systems with the movement of a print medium along the feed path such that single-color (e.g., black, cyan, magenta, or yellow) image portions can be successively superimposed to produce a full color image. Each single-color digital imaging system utilizes a digital micromirror device and an anamorphic imaging system to generate a high energy, one-dimensional modulated line image that selectively evaporates fountain solution from an imaging cylinder before ink material is applied. Each imaging system utilizes a sensor that sends a respective drum position signal to the image server, and the image server utilizes the drum position signals to synchronize the single-color printing operations with the position of the printing medium.

摘要: Disclosed are FIFO type methods, systems and apparatus for electronically registering image data relative to a raster or other marking device. According to an exemplary method, a FIFO type data queuing configuration is provided, where the length of data memory segments associated with the FIFO are selected to correspond to the number of raster lines from the most upstream point of the physical raster to the point where the given pixel column intersects the physical raster.

摘要: A method compensates for runout errors in a web printing system. The method includes identifying runout error at a first roller driving a web of printable media, generating a runout compensation value corresponding to the identified runout error, identifying a velocity of the moving web with reference to encoder output corresponding to an angular velocity of the first roller and the generated runout compensation value, and delivering a firing signal to a print head proximate the first roller to energize the inkjet nozzles in the print head and eject ink onto the web at a position corresponding to the computed web velocity.

摘要: A printing system comprised of a printer, a plurality of processing nodes, each processing node being disposed for processing a portion of a print job into a printer dependent format, and a processing manager for spooling the print job into selectively sized chunks and assigning the chunks to selected ones of the nodes for parallel processing of the chunks by the processing nodes into the printer dependent format. The chunks are selectively sized from at least one page to an entire size of the print job in accordance with predetermined splitting factors for enhancing printer printing efficiency. The operating of the printing system includes a method for parallel processing of a print job with a plurality of processing nodes into a printer-ready format for printing the print job, wherein the processing nodes communicate with a virtual disk transfer system and control usage thereof by monitoring available space in the virtual disk transfer system.
