    摘要： A medicinal combination of herbs, herbal extracts, and their chemical constituents that is synergistically effective for promoting human and veterinary health. The combination is a blood lipid level lowering synergistic composition comprising Ku ding cha, berberine or a berberine-containing plant extract, and other optional active ingredients. Methods of extraction and combination in synergistic amounts are also disclosed. The compositions according to the present invention may be used to treat or reduce the chance of contracting or the progression of a number of diseases or conditions in a subject, particularly cardiovascular diseases.

    摘要： A 3D insect device is described which comprises a preferably water-resistant body that can assume a folded position and then unfolded to expand into a true 3-dimensional structure with one or more elements to either attract or repel flying nuisance and pest insects like flies, mosquitoes, moths, beetles etc or to attract beneficial insects. The structure preferably simulates comparable shape, size and color as occurring in nature, having significant effects on the instincts of the target insects. The 3D device shape is supplemented with one or more of insect attractant colors, tacky agents, food attractants, pheromones, fragrances and aromas, insecticides, and repellents. Water-resistant, preferably biodegradable materials permit both indoor and outdoor use. The device design significantly improves convenience of use while reducing unintended contact of non-targets such as users, children, pets or wildlife with the contact surfaces.

    摘要： A testosterone generating and metabolizing enhancer is proposed in the invention, which increases concentrations of testosterone in both seminal vesicle and bloodstream, and may further promote the gene expression of metabolizing testosterone into 5α-reductase of dihydrotestosterone. The testosterone generating and metabolizing enhancer of the invention is characterized in that an effective component thereof may be phenylethanoid glycosides; said phenylethanoid glycosides may comprise at least one of echinacoside and acteoside, or may comprise both echinacoside and acteoside, more preferably. The testosterone generating and metabolizing enhancer of the invention may be applied in medicines, substances for external uses on skin, and foods and beverages for mammals (including humans); as well as an animal feed for mammals.

    摘要： Analogues of bovine and human parathyroid hormone, wherein twenty-fifth, twenty-six and twenty-seventh positions of the natural hormone, Arg-Lys-Lys- each have been substituted with Ala, Asn, Asp, Cys, Gln, Glu, Gly, His, Ile, Leu, Met, Phe, Pro, Ser, Thr, Trp, Tyr or Val have been found to retain bone cell effect with minimal effects on blood pressure and smooth muscle, including cardiac muscle. It has further been found that this effect can be obtained by using a synthetic PTH containing only the first 34 amino acids of PTH, with substitution at the twenty-fifth, twenty-sixth and twenty-seventh amino acids as described. These analogues of PTH also are effective in the treatment of osteoporosis and other bone diseases.
