The access point detects a wireless-network identifier (such as a service set identifier (SSID)) provided by a terminal via an air interface, and the access point uses the wireless-network identifier as a basis to select one of the VPN tunnels. The access point then sends communication from the terminal via the selected VPN tunnel.

摘要： A method and system are disclosed for secure automated conferencing between authorized conference participants. A conference server may schedule a conference between a plurality of authorized conference participants and assign each authorized conference participant a respective unique participant-ID. The conference server may send each participant a conference message containing an actionable link that the party may invoke to join the conference. The link may designate the party's unique participant-ID and the conference bridge number. When the link is invoked, the device of the conference participant may initiate communication with the conference server and provide the unique participant-ID to the conference server. When a given party initiates communication with the conference server, the conference server may verify that the given party is an authorized conference participant. The conference server may verify that the given party is authorized by verifying that the participant-ID provided to the conference server by the given party corresponds to the unique participant-ID assigned to the given party.

摘要： Each wireless access point in a wireless local area network (WLAN) is allocated a set of one or more identifiers. A correlation database stores information that relates the geographic location of each wireless access point and the identifiers allocated to it. When a mobile node associated with a wireless access point in the WLAN originates a 9-1-1 or other emergency call, one of the wireless access point's identifiers is included in the call origination request. By querying the correlation database, the wireless access point's geographic location may be determined from the identifier. When a public safety answering point (PSAP) answers the mobile node's call, the PSAP may obtain the geographic location of the wireless access point with which the mobile node is associated. This location information could be pushed to the PSAP, or the PSAP could obtain the location information by querying the correlation database.

A WLAN access point is arranged with predefined security settings to establish a VPN tunnel over a packet network with a VPN terminator on a remote network. The access point then wirelessly receives voice traffic from a wireless terminal operating in the WLAN and sends the voice traffic over the VPN tunnel to the remote network, for transmission to a call control device, which provides connectivity with a voice transport network. And the access point similarly receives voice traffic via the VPN tunnel from the remote network and sends the voice traffic wirelessly to the wireless terminal. Advantageously, multiple wireless terminals operating on the WLAN can engage in voice calls concurrently via the access point.
