摘要: Fuel under pressure is conducted through restricted passages into the piston chamber of a nozzle body having a discharge orifice through which an axially movable valve projects. Pressurization of the piston chamber retracts the valve against a continuous closing bias to establish and control a discharge spray pattern. A signal pressure developed within the spray pattern is sensed at the projecting end of the valve to regulate its orifice opening position.

摘要: Combustion supporting air in the resonator tube of a pulse jet engine is cyclically compressed by combustion and discharged through a decelerating passage of a diffuser in a tail section of the engine to internally pressurize an afterbody preceding atmospheric dishcarge of the combustion products through nozzle passages, followed by primary refill with air from the pressurized afterbody and secondary refill by reentry of external air. The nozzle passages are formed in angularly spaced, rearwardly diverging vane formations of the tail section projecting from a protective casing directing ram air intake into orifice openings formed in a rear end portion of the diffuser to regulate afterbody pressurization under control of ram pressure created by forward propulsion of the engine.

摘要: A first scale component is stationarily mounted on a stationary lens component relative to which a rotatable lens component is supported. A pointer is supported from the rotatable lens component for angular displacement therewith and the first scale component includes first linear lens stop scale indicia thereon relative to which the pointer is registered and along which the pointer may swing. A second scale component including a second linear size compensation scale is provided and supported from the second scale component for back and forth shifting relative thereto for longitudinally shifting of the size adjustment scale generally along the path of swinging movement of the pointer. A third scale component including a third linear density value scale is supported from the first scale component for back and forth longitudinal shifting of the density scale transverse to the longitudinal extent of an adjacent portion of the size component scale.

摘要: Combustion products exiting from the rear turbine of a jet engine are conducted through an annular passage surrounding a rear internal body section slidably mounting an exhaust nozzle blocking piston. The exhaust nozzle is releasably locked to the engine housing in a normal mode of operation and released for displacement by the piston when extended to its nozzle blocking position for engine starting purposes and to form a reverse thrust discharge passage by rearward displacement of the nozzle.

摘要: A pair of thin panel members are provided having registry posts mounted thereon comprising thin discs punched from a panel sheet. The registry posts are snugly received in registry apertures of the same size formed in remote marginal portions of a film sheet or panel sheet portions tape attached to remote marginal edges of a film sheet and the panel members may then be pressure-sensitive tape applied to the open back of a camera used for copy work. The film sheet may then be exposed, removed from the registry posts and then developed. A second film sheet may thereafter be mounted on the camera back and partially exposed through a contact screen disposed thereover. The contact screen may then be removed and the developed film sheet then may again be mounted on the camera back over the exposed second film sheet through utilization of the registry posts so that the developed film sheet will be in exact registry with the exposed film sheet retained on the camera back. Thereafter, the camera back may be closed and the partially exposed second mentioned film sheet may be further exposed through the developed film sheet after which both film sheets may be removed from the camera and the second film sheet may be developed and have prints made therefrom. A cover panel portion is provided for each post and serves to protect the contact screen.

摘要: A projection diaphragm assembly for achieving halftone negatives with conventional cameras capturing the range and contrast of reproduction materials to be copied, retarding the lighter gray from the white in black and white halftone negatives and separating the gray-white contrast relation for printing purposes is provided. The projection diaphragm is to be utilized in conjunction with a halftone screen of conventional form and may be utilized in front of the associated camera lens assembly or between the front and rear elements of the associated camera lens assembly. The diaphragm assembly includes a frame supported from the associated camera for angular displacement about the center axis of the camera lens assembly and a pair of aperture defining superposed plates are supported from the frame for simultaneous inverse rectilinear shifting diametrically of the associated camera lens axis. The plates are disposed normal to the associated lens axis and include variably registrable openings formed therethrough. When the openings are partially or fully registered with each other, they define an aperture centered on the center axis of the associated lens assembly and the cross-sectional shape of the aperture formed may be square, rectangular or generally elliptical, according to the cross-sectional shapes of the partially or fully registered plate openings defining the aperture. Of course, inasmuch as the frame supporting the plates is rotatable about the center axis of the associated lens assembly, a square or rectangular aperture may be rotated to define a diamond-shaped aperture and elliptical aperture may also be similarly rotated.
