    Abstract: A method to prevent generation of impact noise caused by an armature contacting a stopper due to a return spring and damage of the armature and a stopper without adding a part. Excitation of an electromagnetic coil 4 causes an armature 9 at a standby position to move in a plunger 7 direction so as to move the plunger 7 inserted in a pressurizing chamber 3 in a tip end direction against a return spring 8 to a level such that fuel is not injected from an injection nozzle 2. Fuel supplied from a fuel tank to the pressurizing chamber 3 through a fuel intake pipe 10 and inlet check valve 11 is pressurized and vapor included in the fuel inside the pressurizing chamber 3 is discharged to a fuel return pipeline 14 through a spill valve 12 and return passage 13. Excitation of the electromagnetic coil 4 is stopped, and then the electromagnetic coil 4 is re-excited prior to the armature 9 and plunger 7 reaching the standby position due to the return spring 8, such that the return speed of the armature 9 is reduced and an impact when the armature 9 contacts a stopper 15 is mitigated.

    Abstract: A fuel injector includes a needle valve including a spring-retaining section and a guide section that is adjacent to the spring-retaining section. The spring-retaining section includes an elongated portion and a flange that are together configured to support a spring assembly. The guide section includes a plurality of constricted portions alternatingly arranged with a plurality of expanded portions to define an undulating shape of the guide section. Each of the plurality of expanded portions includes a plurality of indentations to permit fuel to travel therealong to exit an outlet of the fuel injector. The guide section has a length that is substantially equal to a length of the spring-retaining section.

    Abstract: An electromagnetic fuel injection valve includes a coupling between an armature and the valve member that allows limited relative movement of the valve member and armature in both the opening and closing directions of the valve member. An injector body includes a non-magnetic section to focus magnetic flux and attractive force through the armature and pole. A modular power group reduces the cost of assembly and includes a plastic encapsulated coil that is protected from environmental moisture and corrosion. A valve seat incorporates a valve seal which improves fuel flow past the valve member when the fuel injection valve is in the open position.

    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a fuel injector for injecting fuel into a combustion engine. It may comprise a valve with a movable needle, two springs pushing the needle toward the closed position, and an actuator for opening the valve. The needle may be in a fuel reservoir of a valve body. The actuator may supply pressurized fuel to the fuel reservoir so that the fuel pressure forces the needle away from the closed position against the spring force of the first spring or the first and second springs, respectively. There may be play between the second spring and the needle when the needle is in the closed position.

    Abstract: A fuel injector with inlet and discharge ends includes a fuel tube through which fuel is admitted to a fuel passage extending to the discharge end. A valve element reciprocates against and away from a valve seat to prevent or allow fuel discharge. A calibration tube includes first and second ends and defines a portion of the fuel passage through which fuel must pass to the discharge end, the second end defining a spring seat engaging a spring and biasing the spring against the valve element. A fuel filter filters all fuel passing to the discharge end, and provides restriction of a first magnitude. The calibration tube includes a pressure pulsation damping orifice fluidly between the fuel filter and the discharge end through which fuel must pass to the discharge end, the pressure pulsation damping orifice provides restriction of a second magnitude which is greater than the first magnitude.
