    摘要: A display system provides a display assembly having a display screen. LEDs are presorted into a plurality of groups, each group of LEDs having substantially the same color that is different than the color of another group. LEDs are selected from one of the groups. The selected LEDs are mounted in the display assembly to illuminate the display screen. A non-electronic color adjuster is mounted in the light path from the selected LEDs to shift the light color to a predetermined color.

    摘要: A temperature sensing apparatus (10) and associated method (60) wherein a temperature sensor (22) or a plurality of temperature sensors (22) is placed in or in near proximity to a liquid crystal display module (12) of a computer system (11, 11a, 11b). The temperature sensor(s) (22) are placed on, or in near proximity to the liquid crystal display module (12) at positions determined according to the requirements of a particular application. Temperature of the liquid crystal display module (12) is communicated digitally to an associated computer (14) by, for example, a bus such as an inter-integrated circuit interface bus (26). When the temperature exceeds a predetermined limit, remedial action, such as increasing fan speed, reducing speed and or power consumption of other components, or the like, is taken to reduce the temperature.

    摘要: Electrical shield line systems are provided for openings in common electrodes near data lines of display and touch screens. Some displays, including touch screens, can include multiple common electrodes (Vcom) that can have openings between individual Vcoms. Some display screens can have an open slit between two adjacent edges of Vcom. Openings in Vcom can allow an electric field to extend from a data line through the Vcom layer. A shield can be disposed over the Vcom opening to help reduce or eliminate an electric field from affecting a pixel material, such as liquid crystal. The shield can be connected to a potential such that electric field is generated substantially between the shield and the data line to reduce or eliminate electric fields reaching the liquid crystal.

    摘要: One embodiment of the present invention provides a transflective display in which a border area adjacent to an active area has a reflectivity that is substantially the same as the active area when the display is turned off. This display includes a polarizer layer, a color filter glass (CFG) layer, a liquid crystal layer, and a reflector layer. The CFG layer contains color filters in the active area, while the border area of the CFG layer is designed to have a reflectivity that is substantially the same as the active area when the display is turned off.
