摘要: A system for assisting an x-ray operator with properly positioning a patient's body part to be x-rayed. The system uses a range sensor and/or a camera supported on an x-ray emitter to collect data about the patient's body part to be x-rayed. The data is transmitted to a processor and compared to a selected reference envelope or image. The processor provides an x-ray operator with a positive or negative notification based on its analysis of the collected data and the selected reference envelope or image. A negative notification indicates that the patient's body part needs to be adjusted. A positive notification indicates that the patient's body part is ready to be x-rayed.

摘要: Maintaining data integrity for a logical partition by enabling nonintrusive switching of page tables used during a migration of the logical partition from a source computer system to a target computer system. A first page table stores a plurality of page entries made within a logically partitioned environment. A second page table stores one or more page entries generated during the migration. After migration, the processor page table pointer is switched to point to the first page table. A page entry in the second page table corresponding to a page entry made to the first page table by the logical partition may be invalidated in response to a page table hypervisor call made by the logical partition. In parallel, a plurality of entries generated during the migration of the logical partition in the second page table may be read through and invalidated.

摘要: A system for dispensing beverages includes a container coupler having a sensor box with a fluid flow sensor, and a tag reader for reading identification tags mounted on a container. The container coupler has a handle for selectively actuating the container coupler to attach and remove the container coupler from a container. The container coupler has a gas inlet for pressurizing a container, and a fluid outlet for delivering fluid to a dispenser. The sensor box is affixed to the fluid outlet, or integrated with the container coupler, to enable the fluid flow sensor to measure fluid flow volumes, rates, or both. The tag reader is affixed on the sensor box of the container coupler for reading identification tags from a keg. An advantage of having a sensor box on the container coupler is that the sensor box is held during use in close proximity to any tags affixed to the container.

摘要: A system, method, and wireless communication device that profiles a user thereof, or a user at a second wireless communication device in communication therewith. The wireless communication device gathers user data for a user thereof, or from a user at a second wireless communication device, and either directly generates, or has generated elsewhere, a user profile, such as a personality or psychological profile, or medical diagnosis of the user, and can display the user profile to the user and/or alter the wireless communication device functionality based upon the user profile. The gathered user data can be from physical user interaction with the wireless communication device, or from other equipment resident at the wireless communication device, such as a camera and medical diagnostic devices.

摘要: An apparatus, program product and method maintains data integrity for a logical partition by enabling nonintrusive switching of page tables used during a migration of the logical partition from a source computer system to a target computer system. A first page table may be configured to store a plurality of page entries made within a logically partitioned environment. A second page table may be used during migration to store one or more page entries generated during the migration. After migration, the processor page table pointer may be transparently switched to point to the first page table. A page entry in the second page table corresponding to a page entry made to the first page table by the logical partition may be invalidated in response to a page table hypervisor call made by the logical partition. In parallel, a plurality of entries generated during the migration of the logical partition in the second page table may be read through and invalidated. This reading through of the entries may be accomplished concurrently with the invalidation of the corresponding page entry in the second page table in response to a page table call made by the logical partition. Moreover, the reading of the entries may be accomplished in intervals and with portions of the plurality of entries.

摘要: In one embodiment of the present invention, a virtual-machine monitor detects entry and exit from guest-operating system code, storing the values of a set of high-order floating point registers in memory on entry, and restoring the values of the set of high-order floating point registers on exit. The virtual-machine monitor can then use the set of high-order floating point registers as scratch registers for emulation of guest-operating-system instructions. In alternative embodiments of the present invention, a virtual-machine monitor obtains scratch registers for any code that the virtual-machine monitor can detect entry into and exit from, and for which a set of infrequently used registers can be identified, by storing the current contents of the set of registers upon detected entry into the code and restoring the original contents of the set of registers upon exit from the code, emulating access to the set of registers in the code by memory-access operations.

摘要: One embodiment disclosed relates to a method of reducing access latency to a task priority register (TPR) of a local programmable interrupt controller unit within a microprocessor. A command is received to write an interrupt mask value to the TPR, and the interrupt mask value is written to the TPR. In addition, the interrupt mask value is also written into a shadow copy of the TPR. The shadow copy is written each time that the TPR is written. Another embodiment disclosed relates to a method of reducing a latency to read a TPR of an IPF type microprocessor. When a command is received to read an interrupt mask value from the TPR, the interrupt mask value is read from the shadow copy at a memory location, instead of from the task priority register itself.
