摘要: A tank vent valve for use with a pilot valve that comprises a vent valve body containing a nozzle, a seat plate movable within said vent valve body which seats on said nozzle to seal the valve, and an articulated stem extending from the center of said seat plate and a diaphragm actuator mounted on said vent valve body comprising a resilient member, a support plate below said resilient member and a hollow member attached to said support plate extending toward said seat plate and surrounding said stem, said stem being slidably movable within said hollow member, the upper surface of said diaphragm being in fluid communication with the pressure in said tank through a pilot valve. The stem is terminated in a ball and socket arrangement so that the valve will still seat if the stem is slightly misaligned.

摘要: A tank blanketing valve in which a biased piston is positioned to control the flow of source gas into the tank. The piston is biased by a spring and a pilot gas stream from the source gas (the biasing pressure or force) to close the tank gas inlet. The pilot gas stream is controlled by a pressure sensing component of the valve, whereby the pilot gas stream is directed away from the biased piston when the pressure in the tank is less than a predetermined pressure. This reduces the biasing pressure which is holding the piston in the gas inlet line to the tank. The pressure of the source gas on the piston in the source gas inlet line then exceeds the biasing pressure and causes the piston to slide open and admit source gas into the tank. When the pressure in the tank reaches the predetermined level the pressure sensing component responds and allows the pilot gas stream to be redirected to the piston and thereby to combine with the biasing pressure of the spring which then exceeds the pressure of the source gas in the inlet, forcing the piston to close off the inlet to any further flow of source gas into the tank.

摘要: A pilot actuator and a pilot actuated tank vent valve that comprises: (a) a vent valve body having a pallet which seats on a nozzle to seal the valve; (b) a pallet actuator mounted on the vent valve body and mechanically linked to the pallet, the upper surface of the pallet actuator being in fluid communication with the pressure in the tank through; (c) a pilot valve mounted on the diaphragm actuator and having (1) a spring loaded sensing actuator, (2) a spindle connected to and operated by the sensing actuator, (3) an inlet port in fluid communication with the pressure in the tank, (4) a first passageway for communicating the pressure from the inlet port to the pallet actuator (5) a second passageway for communicating the pressure from the inlet port to the under side of the sensing actuator and (6) a seating mechanism connected to the spindle for sealing an opening between the first passageway and an outlet port, the first passageway being offset from the inlet port and preferably laterally to the second passageway such that any fluid flowing through the inlet port and along the second passageway must pass the opening of the first passageway. The pilot actuated tank vent valve fails in the open position because the passageway from the pilot inlet to the vent valve actuator is offset from the pilot inlet such that fluid passing to the sensing diaphragm of the pilot must pass the opening to the passageway to the vent valve actuator such that if the sensing diaphragm ruptures the flow through the rupture will cause a decrease in pressure on the vent valve actuator diaphragm allowing the vent to open. Additionally, the pilot spindle is terminated in a ball and socket or other self aligning arrangement so that the valve will still seat if the spindle is slightly misaligned.

摘要: A differential pressure regulator is provided having a single piece pressure balanced flow spindle. The differential pressure regulator also includes a spring biased diaphragm assembly which acts against the pressure balanced flow spindle which is spring biased to the closed position. The upper surface of the diaphragm assembly is exposed to the signal pressure, and the lower surface of the diaphragm assembly is exposed to the outlet pressure. An adjustable spring is situated above the upper diaphragm to provide an additional or additive downward force on the upper diaphragm necessitating a greater force on the outlet side to close the valve. A vent is provided through the central bolt and spacer rings. The upper end of the flow spindle blocks the vent in the central bolt so long as the signal pressure plus the spring pressure is greater than or equal the outlet pressure.
