Various embodiments of the present disclosure provide a pneumatic inflator for automatically inflating inflatable articles, such as dunnage bags, to a desired pressure. Generally, once activated, the pneumatic inflator of the present disclosure inflates an inflatable article via a compressed air source until the air pressure inside the inflatable article reaches an operator-selected desired pressure. Thereafter, the pneumatic inflator automatically stops inflating the inflatable article. In various embodiments, the pneumatic inflator also includes a manual shut-off that, when activated while the pneumatic inflator is inflating the inflatable article, causes the pneumatic inflator to stop inflating the inflatable article. The pneumatic inflator of the present disclosure thus enables automatic inflation of inflatable articles to particular, operated-selected desired pressures with limited operator input.

A method and apparatus to control pressure in a fluid delivery system utilizes a variable-pressure regulating means and a flow-controlled selecting means to provide a higher pressure when the flow in the system is higher, and to provide a lower pressure when the flow in the system is lower. It exploits an inherent signal that is generated and transmitted by the fluid, and which enables remote control of the pressure. Useful, for example, to provide pressure control for a garden hose fitted with a closeable nozzle, wherein full pressure is provided through the hose when the nozzle is open, lower pressure is maintained when the nozzle is closed, and the operator controls pressure in the hose from the fluid delivery end of the hose, protecting the hose from bulging or splitting, making the hose easier to handle, and conserving water. Other applications include protecting washing machine supply hoses from bursting and flooding; and pressure control of fire sprinkler, compressed gas, and pneumatic control systems.

The present invention relates to an automatic constant-pressure lift valve provided with a pilot valve unit having an A valve unit and a B valve unit, and an external control force applying means that can be simply adjusted to set a predetermined valve-outlet pressure. A main valve unit is constructed so that an abnormal rise in the valve-outlet pressure can be avoided at start and stop and continuous operation of a pumping or conveying pump facility. The automatic constant-pressure lift valve has a construction capable of easily maintaining watertightness when the line is shut off. The pilot valve unit is not provided with any fixed flow restriction regulating passage, such as a needle valve. When the main valve unit, and the A valve unit and the B valve unit of the pilot valve unit are clogged, those valves open automatically for automatic cleaning. This constant-pressure lift valve has an excellent industrial effect.

An improved valve is provided for blanketing and maintaining the vapor space of a tank with inert gas at a set pressure. The valve is of the type that incorporates a pilot valve that operates in response to sensed tank vapor space gas pressure. The opening and closing of the pilot valve controls the opening and closing of an associated main valve which admits pressurized inert gas into the tank from an inert gas supply to maintain the tank set pressure. The valve permits one to externally adjust internal components of the pilot valve after valve assembly. Also, the valve provides for pressure balanced operation that achieves a consistent opening pressure over the allowable range of inlet gas supply pressures.

A manually adjustable override apparatus is connected to an existing fuel pressure regulator to alter the fuel-to-air mixture fed to fuel injectors. A T-shaped member has a lower end adapted to be connected on the vacuum hose fitting of the regulator and has an outwardly extending hose fitting. A headed plunger slidably contained in the longitudinal bore of the T-shaped member has an elongate lower end extending outwardly from the bottom of the T-shaped member and through the hose fitting of the regulator to engage the top of the diaphragm in the regulator. Vacuum communicates around the plunger between the interior of the T-shaped member and the vacuum chamber of the regulator. An adjustment screw in the top end of the T-shaped member engages a small piston slidably and sealably contained in the longitudinal bore. A compression spring is biased between the piston and the head of the plunger. The vacuum hose is removed from the regulator and the override device is installed on the existing regulator. The vacuum hose is re-installed on the hose fitting of the override device. When the adjustment scre is backed off, the diaphragm operates under pressure of the existing factory installed spring in the conventional manner, and when the adjustment screw is screwed in, the plunger is resiliently pressed against the diaphragm under the increased spring pressure of the secondary override spring to increase the pressure on the diaphragm and vary the fuel pressure resulting in a variable fuel-to-air ratio.

A tank blanketing valve in which a biased piston is positioned to control the flow of source gas into the tank. The piston is biased by a spring and a pilot gas stream from the source gas (the biasing pressure or force) to close the tank gas inlet. The pilot gas stream is controlled by a pressure sensing component of the valve, whereby the pilot gas stream is directed away from the biased piston when the pressure in the tank is less than a predetermined pressure. This reduces the biasing pressure which is holding the piston in the gas inlet line to the tank. The pressure of the source gas on the piston in the source gas inlet line then exceeds the biasing pressure and causes the piston to slide open and admit source gas into the tank. When the pressure in the tank reaches the predetermined level the pressure sensing component responds and allows the pilot gas stream to be redirected to the piston and thereby to combine with the biasing pressure of the spring which then exceeds the pressure of the source gas in the inlet, forcing the piston to close off the inlet to any further flow of source gas into the tank.
