Abstract:
This present specification provides, amongst other things, an electro-optical monitoring system for obtaining a once-per revolution signal based on the surface reflection of a rotating device that mandates non-contacting sensor input in potentially hostile environments. The system can use optical and electronic sections to illuminate and detect surface reflections from the rotating surface using existing mounting locations on the periphery of the machine to be measured. The electronic portion is configured to determine a unique mark as the once-per-revolution marker or allow an attending operator to assign a specific marker based on the observed reflected pattern. The optical portion consists of a light source, receiver, and optics that allow for focused and directed light paths.

Abstract:
A method of testing for a desired specific gravity of a liquid. The method including the use of a temperature calibration gauge and a hydrometer. The temperature calibration gauge has a thermo sensing end and a readout indicating the desired hydrometer reading at the current temperature of the liquid. The method includes the steps of contacting the thermo sensing end and the hydrometer with the liquid and comparing the readout of the temperature calibration gauge with the measurement indicated by the hydrometer.
Abstract:
An air filter system adapted to prevent pet hair, dander and other pet particulate from damaging electronic devices is provided. The air filter system may include filter frames adapted to circumscribe the vents of the electronic devices. The filter frames may include a magnetic layer to removably attaching the filter frames to the electronic devices.
Abstract:
The invention describes an insect trap and monitor for trapping and monitoring crawling insects such as bed bugs. The trap comprises two planar elements of substantially the same size, each with flat outer surface and an inner surface provided with a plurality of recessed areas. The opposed recessed areas align to form at least one passageway and a plurality of trapping compartments, with the passageway open at least at one end to provide an entrance to the trap. The trapping compartment are provided with adhesive means such as a non-drying, non-toxic adhesive. The insect trap and monitor further comprises monitoring means for exposing the trapping compartments, such as a tear-off flap allowing for inspection of the interior of the trap before it is disposed.

Abstract:
A communication system and method for establishing a voice call connection with a wireless communication device is provided. The communication system includes a first network, which supports circuit switched voice call connections, a second network, which supports data packet voice call connections, and one or more wireless communication devices. The first network transmits a received paging request to a corresponding wireless communication device, and if a packet data connection already exists between the second network and the corresponding wireless communication device, then the second network transmits an incoming circuit call indication, based upon a received paging request, to the corresponding wireless communication device.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method of storing streaming media in a memory associated with a wireless communication device in response to receiving a communication request. A wireless transmission of the media streaming session content can be received at the wireless communication device. The media streaming session content can be played at the wireless communication device while receiving the media streaming session content. A communication request can be received. Subsequent media streaming session content can be stored in a memory associated with the wireless communication device in response to receiving the communication request.
