摘要: Biomaterials presenting synthetic peptides and methods of preparing biomaterials are disclosed. More particularly, the disclosure is directed to biomaterials including a substrate including a synthetic peptide thereon, wherein the synthetic peptide is selected from synthetic proteoglycan-binding peptides, synthetic glycosaminoglycan-binding peptides, and combinations thereof. The present disclosure is further directed to methods of preparing the biomaterials for use in sequestering endogenous proteoglycans and endogenous glycosaminoglycans, increasing stem cell proliferation, reducing spontaneous stem cell differentiation, and enhancing induced osteogenic differentiation of mesenchymal stem cells.
