Abstract:
An electrophotographic color image forming apparatus is provided including a plurality of toner cartridges and a plurality of developing cartridges. Each of the developing cartridges includes an accommodating unit in which a developing roller is arranged and a toner supply unit which extends from a surface of the accommodating unit to connect the toner cartridges to the accommodating unit.
Abstract:
An automatic belt tension apparatus of an image forming device having: a tension applying part to apply a predetermined tension to the belt, installed with respect to the belt; a tension releasing part to operate the tension applying part to not apply the predetermined tension to the belt, installed with respect to the tension applying part; and a tension actuating part to actuate the tension applying part to apply the predetermined tension to the belt against the tension releasing part during operation of a driving unit, installed with respect to the driving unit and the tension releasing part. According to different embodiments, the belt may be a transfer belt, an intermediate belt, or a photosensitive belt.
Abstract:
A photosensitive drum protecting device for use in a color electrophotographic printer is provided. The printer, in which developing device cartridges of various colors including photosensitive drums and developing rollers are installed, and a printing path contacting the photosensitive drums is formed, includes a photosensitive drum protecting device that simultaneously exposes or protects each of the photosensitive drums. All of the photosensitive drums disposed at front end portions of the developing device cartridges are covered by just one photosensitive drum protecting device. Thus, the complexity of the printer is reduced and the printer can be made more compact.
Abstract:
Disclosed are a charge eliminator and an image forming apparatus having the same. The charge eliminator includes a light source array and a light guide member. The light source array includes a plurality of point light sources. The light guide member includes an incidence face through which light generated from the point light sources is introduced. The light guide member guides the light introduced through the incidence face to the photoconductor. A diffusion pattern is provided at the incidence face of the light guide member to diffuse the light introduced through the incidence face.
Abstract:
An apparatus to detect the remaining amount of developer in a developing unit is provided. The apparatus includes a light emitting prism and a light receiving prism placed opposite to each other in a developer store space of the developing unit and forming a light emitting path and a light receiving path, respectively. A light emitting element irradiates light through the light emitting prism, and a light receiving element receives a light signal through the light receiving prism. An antistatic agent is coated on a light emitting window of the light emitting prism and a light receiving window of the light receiving prism, respectively, to substantially prevent developer from attaching on the light emitting window and the light receiving window. Because the developer is not stuck on the light receiving window and the light emitting window to which the light signal is transmitted, an accurate light signal may be transmitted from the light emitting window to the light receiving window, thereby substantially preventing printing defects caused by detection errors from occurring.

Abstract:
In an image forming apparatus, a developing unit includes an inlet cover for opening and closing a toner inlet formed in an outer casing of the developing unit, and an outlet cover for opening and closing a toner outlet. A toner cartridge includes a toner feeding roller for selectively opening and closing a toner feeding port formed in an outer casing of the toner cartridge, a recovery cover for opening and closing a toner recovery port formed in an outer casing of the toner cartridge in relative movement with the outlet cover during mounting and removal with respect to the developing unit, and a supporting projection for restricting and opening and closing one end of the inlet cover during mounting and removal of the toner cartridge with respect to the developing unit. As a result of this arrangement, a user does not have to perform additional steps to open and close the toner feeding path and the toner recovery path, and accordingly can use the image forming apparatus with more convenience.
