    摘要: Color image processing apparatus for displaying color images comprised of terminals for receiving pixel data and control data, first and second frame memories for storing the pixel data of 2 picture frames of image to be displayed, and first and second color look-up tables provided correspondingly with the first and second frame memories for storing color data to be referred by the pixel data in the first and second frame memories, which color data are determined individually between the first and second color look-up tables. The apparatus further comprises a control and output device for controlling arrangements of the first and second frame memories and the first and second look-up tables concurrently, and determining the color data to be stored individually in the first and second color look-up tables and outputting color pixel data determined according to the pixel data in the first and second frame memories and the color data in the first and second look-up tables in response to the control data inputted thereto.Further in detail, the control data cause the control and output device to combine the first and second frame memories so as to operate as a single unit and to make up a third look-up table having at least a color data domain equivalent to the first look-up table.

    摘要: A high resolution still image is inserted into a stream of lower resolution video. The lower resolution video stream is a compressed video stream having I-frames. One of the I-frames is a lower resolution version of which a higher resolution image is desired. The I-frame is decoded and decompressed and zoomed up in size to the high resolution size. The zoomed up I-frame is subtracted from the original high resolution still image to generate a difference frame called an X-frame. The X-frame is compressed and inserted into the video stream. The high resolution image can be recovered by extracting the X-frame from the hybrid video stream, and reversing the process used to generate the X-frame. The functionality for regenerating the high resolution image can be realized in software as part of a viewer program, or can be realized as part of a camera, television, or other video display device.

    摘要: In an image capture device, a filter in a processing stage prior to an MPEG encoder applies unsharp masking and spatial filtering. MPEG encoder hardware that is used to determine SAD values also determines a complexity value. The complexity value indicates a complexity of a macroblock or a frame. The processor uses the complexity value to determine an appropriate transfer function of the spatial filter. The spatial filter smoothes information supplied to the MPEG encoder such that the MPEG encoder can apply less severe quantization, thereby reducing apparent block noise when the resulting MPEG video is later decoded and viewed on a display device.
