Abstract:
A string-replacement assembly may be installed within an inner cavity of a body of a guitar or non-fretted string instrument. The assembly includes at least one cartridge configured to contain a supply of replacement string therein, corresponding to a particular string gauge for the guitar. Each supply of replacement string is rotatably mounted within a cartridge. A free end of each supply of the replacement string can be threaded through an exit opening in the body of the guitar for installation on a topside of the guitar or non-fretted string instrument. When a string needs to be replaced, a portion of the supply of the replacement string may be readily advanced from a corresponding cartridge to a desired length, and installed in a playing position on the topside of the guitar or non-fretted string instrument, to replace a removed portion of the string.
Abstract:
A method and system for transforming information between data formats. According to one embodiment, a transformation engine receives an indication of an input data format and an output data format, identifies, based on the input data format, an input transformation program from a set of input transformation programs, each program in the set of input transformation programs configured to transform information arranged according to a distinct data format to a standard format, utilizes the identified input transformation program to transform an information source arranged according to the input data format to the standard format, identifies, based on the output data format, an output transformation program from a set of output transformation programs, each program in the set of output transformation programs configured to transform information arranged according to the standard format to a distinct data format, and utilizes the identified output transformation program to transform the information source arranged according to the standard format to the output data format.
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to a stabilized dairy base material for use as a heavy cream replacement or substitute as well as methods for producing the stabilized dairy base material. The stabilized dairy base material contains a nisin-containing curd material prepared by fermentation of milk and/or cream with a nisin-producing culture.
Abstract:
An improved vehicle lift assembly for loading and unloading objects into and from a vehicle includes a base configured for being mounted to the vehicle, a vertical post extending from the base, an extension boom extending outward from a centerline of the post, a swing arm rotatably coupled to the extension arm, extension boom, an engaging mechanism supported by the swing arm for releasably engaging the object, and an actuator for raising and lowering the engaging mechanism to raise and lower the engaged object.
Abstract:
A string-replacement assembly may be installed within an inner cavity of a body of a guitar. The assembly includes a plurality of cartridges each configured to contain a supply of replacement string therein, corresponding to a particular gauge of string for the guitar. Each supply of replacement string is rotatably mounted within a cartridge. A free end of each supply of the replacement string can be threaded through an exit opening in the body of the guitar for installation on a topside of the guitar. When string breaks or needs to be replaced on the topside of the guitar, a portion of the supply of the replacement string may be readily advanced from a corresponding cartridge to a desired length, and installed in a playing position on the topside of the guitar, to replace a removed portion (associated with the breakage or replacement) of the string.

Abstract:
An antimicrobial composition is provided that includes an amount of nisin and ε-poly-L-lysine effective for preventing an increase in microbial counts in a foodstuff. Nisin and ε-poly-L-lysine act synergistically to prevent increases in microbial counts in foods without affecting the foods taste and physical properties. This synergistic antimicrobial composition may be used to inhibit common food borne pathogens such as Listeria monocytogenes, Clostridium botulinum, Bacillus cereus, and Staphylococcus aureus, as well as spoilage organisms such as Lactococcus spp., Lactobacillus spp., Leuconostoc spp., Streptococcus spp., etc.

Abstract:
An aircraft component includes a first segment having a first leading edge surface that extends to a first end of the first segment. The aircraft component also includes a second segment having a second leading edge surface that extends to a second end of the second segment. The second end is substantially adjacent to the first end of the first segment, and is connected to the first end. The first leading edge surface includes electrical resistance heating that extends to the first end of the first segment. In addition, the second leading edge surface includes electrical resistance heating that extends to the second end of the second segment. The electrical resistance heating is capable of providing ice protection heating immediately on either side of a juncture between the connected first and second ends.
