Abstract: A dewar for storing a cryogenic fluid includes an inner vessel, an outer vessel, and a one-piece neck tube. The outer vessel includes an outer upper jacket and an outer lower jacket configured to be joined and define an interior chamber. The inner vessel is positioned within the interior chamber so that an insulation space is defined. The insulation space is at least partially evacuated of air. The one-piece neck tube extends between the inner vessel and the central region of the outer upper jacket. The one-piece neck tube includes a first portion configured to couple with the outer upper jacket, and a second portion configured to couple with the inner vessel such that the second portion extends into the inner vessel. The second portion is integrally formed with the first portion as one-piece.

Abstract: A system, method and apparatus, and/or device is provided for a vapor shield. The vapor shield may attach to a cryogenic storage vessel having an opening and a pump out port. The vapor shield may include a collar, and a pump out port protector. The collar of the vapor shield may be attached to the opening of the cryogenic storage vessel and may support the pump out port protector. The pump out port protector may direct overflowing fluid, such as liquid cryogen, away from the pump out port. In this manner, the pump out port may be protected during filling and emptying of the cryogenic storage vessel with cooling fluid.

Abstract: A dewar for storing a cryogenic fluid features an inner vessel configured to store the cryogenic fluid and an outer vessel having an outer upper head and an outer lower head. The outer upper and lower heads are joined so as to define an interior chamber of the dewar. The inner vessel is positioned within the interior chamber of the outer vessel so that an insulation space, which is evacuated of air, is defined between the inner and outer vessels. A neck extends between the inner vessel and a central region of the outer upper head. The outer upper head and neck are configured so that the central region permanently deforms without breaking the neck when excessive shock loads are applied to the dewar.

Abstract: Mounting hardware is installed to a cryogenic storage device to accommodate an automation system for automated storage and retrieval. A guideplate at an upper surface of a cover of the cryogenic storage device is positioned such that the guideplate is aligned in a predefined relation to an access port at the upper surface. One or more mounting posts are affixed at a location as indicated by the guideplate. A vacuum is then pulled within the cover, and the mounting hardware is affixed to the at least one mounting post.

Abstract: A cryogenic freezer features a dewar defining a storage space. A reservoir is positioned within or adjacent to the storage space and is configured to contain a cryogenic liquid with a headspace above the cryogenic liquid in a reservoir interior space that is sealed with respect to the storage space. A refrigeration module is in heat exchange relationship with the reservoir. A sensor is configured to determine a temperature or pressure within the reservoir. A system controller is connected to the sensor and the refrigeration module and configured so that the refrigeration module is adjusted to provide additional cooling to the reservoir when a pressure or temperature within the headspace increases.
