The locking element is a generally uniform cylindrical locking pin, and is arranged in an axial bore in the hub of the vane wheel. The longitudinal axis of the axial bore has a smallest possible distance from the longitudinal mid-axis of the device. The seat has a generally quadrilateral shaped contour that is larger by a play on all sides than the cross sectional area of the locking element, and includes a worm groove opening into it for supplying pressure medium.
