A solid catalyst component for olefin polymerization catalysts prepared by suspending diethoxymagnesium (a) in an aromatic hydrocarbon (b) which is liquid at normal temperature and bringing the suspension into a first contact with titanium tetrachloride (c) to form a product and bringing it into a second contact with tianium tetrachloride (c) in such manner that a diester (d) of an aromatic dicarboxylic acid and calcium chloride (e) are allowed to coexist at any stage of the above suspending and/or contacts, the calcium chloride (e) being used in an amount of 1-2 grams per gram of the diethoxymagnesium (a). This solid catalyst component exhibits, when applied to the polymerization of olefins, a surprisingly enhanced polymerization activity per titanium atom and a high stereospecific performance and scarcely necessitates any deashing treatment, thus affording a great economical advantage.

This catalyst is capable of exhibiting a high polymerization activity combined with a high stereospecific performance and producing stereoregular olefin polymers in a high yield.

A catalyst for the polymerization of olefins which comprises:(1) a solid catalyst component,(2) a piperidine derivative and(3) an organoaluminum compound,characterized in that the solid catalyst component (A) has been prepared by mixing (a) a dialkoxymagnesium and (b) a diester of an aromatic dicarboxylic acid with (c) a halogenated hydrocarbon to form a suspension and thereafter adding the suspension to (d) a titanium tetrahalide to effect reaction, as well as the solid catalyst component and a process for preparing same. The catalyst maintains a high polymerization activity combined with stereospecific performance over a prolonged polymerization time and scarcely incurs any problem of corrosion and odor in the resultant polymer.

A sample containing hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) is simultaneously brought in contact with a solid phase and anti-HbA1c antibody, the anti-HbA1c antibody bound to the adsorbed HbA1c on the solid phase and the anti-HbA1c antibody in solution are separated, and the anti-HbA1c antibody bound to the adsorbed HbA1c on the solid phase is detected. HbA1c % is determined by one-step immunoassay, and the time required for measurement is shortened in comparison with conventional immunoassay methods. Since the exposure time to the pretreatment solution present in the reaction solution during the immune reaction is shortened, formation of a precipitate in the sample as well as inactivation of the enzyme of the enzyme-labeled anti-HbA1c antibody, when used, is reduced.

A solid catalyst component prepared under specific conditions by reacting with a reaction product which has been obtained by suspending diethoxymagnesium in an alkylbenzene and bringing the suspension into contact with titanium tetrachloride, phthaloyl dichloride at 80.degree.-125.degree. C., washing the resultant solid material with an alkylbenzene, reacting the solid material in the presence of an alkylbenzene with titanium tetrachloride to form a solid substance, and repeating the process of the following steps (1), (2), (3) and (4) 2-4 times for the solid substance:(1) washing the solid substance with an alkylbenzene,(2) suspending the solid substance in an alkylbenzene,(3) bringing the resultant suspension into contact with the titanium tetrachloride, and(4) eliminating a liquid substance from the reaction mixture as far as possible,as well as an olefin polymerization catalyst which comprises (A) the above specified solid catalyst component, (B) a specific silicon compound and (C) a specific organoaluminum compound. This catalyst exhibits, as compared with the existing olefin polymerization catalysts, an extremely high level of catalytic performance in polymerization activity, stereospecific performance and durability of the activity, and enables the production of stereoregular olefin polymers in an extremely high yield with a negligible residual ash content.

A process for preparation of a component of a catalyst for polymerization of .alpha.-olefins is disclosed. The process comprises the steps of heating a titanium containing component during and/or after milling operation thereof. The titanium-containing catalyst component thus produced makes it possible to produce polymers having a high stereoregularity in high specific yield.
