Abstract:
A reusable pour spout system that may be attached to different container types to dispense different substances, including course and fine granular materials and liquids. A port component has a proximal tubular end and a flange that is larger than the tubular end. The flange further includes a hole-cutting structure adapted to pierce the wall of a container, with a cutting edge adapted to form a hole in the container when the port component is rotated by a user after piercing. This positions the flange within the container with the tubular end exposed to receive a nut that traps the wall of the container between the nut and the flange. A cap is provided to seal off the port. The tubular end of the port component, the nut, and the cap may all be threaded. Different structures to enhance cutting and sealing are disclosed along with preferred method steps.
Abstract:
A drink container has multiple integrated storage compartments removably secured below an openable chamber configured to receive contents for consumption by a user of the drink container. A top assembly covers the chamber and includes a removable top member, an openable cap and a clip. The drink container also includes a first retaining member and a displaceable base with a second retaining member and an internal storage compartment. In an assembled state, the first and second retaining members secure the storage compartment in an intermediate cavity below the chamber. The storage compartment is separated from the cavity by applying a radially outward disconnection force on the compartment. Once disconnected, the integrated storage compartments can be filled within contents, or the contents of the integrated storage compartments can be added to the chamber for consumption by the user or directly consumed by the user.
Abstract:
An apparatus for securing a flexible pipe (101) to a further flexible pipe (102) in an end-to-end configuration. The apparatus includes an elongate tubular element (30) comprising a first and second end (33, 34) and an outer surface comprising a raised central region (35). At least one vent passage (55) extends at least partially across the raised central region (35).
Abstract:
A base structure of the system with a pair of center containers each of rectangular form with a square width and height and an elongated length attached along an elongated side of each. A side container may be attached to each side of the center containers. A semicircular shaped inlet port is formed in a top wall of each of the center containers to form a circular inlet port. A vertical duct of cylindrical form may be attached over the inlet port and have a lower portion of constant diameter cross-section and an upper portion diverging outwardly. A fan placed in each center container to cause an air flow toward a center of each center container to be channeled upwardly to exit through the inlet port for air to flow through the vertical duct to exit the open top end. A recirculating air structure may be formed with additional containers.
Abstract:
A nanomaterial can include an outer layer including a ligand. The ligand can include a first monomer unit including a first moiety having affinity for a surface of the nanocrystal, a second monomer unit including a second moiety having a high water solubility, and a third monomer unit including a third moiety having a selectively reactive functional group or a selectively binding functional group. The ligand can be a random copolymer.
Abstract:
An engine and related control system determine an amount of fuel diluting the engine oil in the oil pan. Such information can be used to recommend an oil change and to estimate a fraction of biodiesel in the fuel supplied to the engine. According to one embodiment, actual oil volume in the oil pan is based on a signal from a level sensor in the oil and a theoretical oil volume is determined based on initial oil volume and fuel entering the oil in the oil pan, fuel leaving the oil pan due to evaporation, and oil being consumed in the combustion chamber. Based on the difference between the actual and theoretical oil volumes, a proportion of heavy fuel components or biodiesel can be determined and transmitted to an engine control system.
Abstract:
Various technologies described herein pertain to racking equipment in a data center. A modular equipment rack system can include an upper track, a lower track, a vertical support, a power and network distribution unit, and a tray. The upper track and the lower track can respectively include incrementally spaced mounting locations at which the vertical support and the power and network distribution unit can be attachable. The tray can be attachable to the vertical support and the power and network distribution unit when the vertical support is attached to the upper track at a first upper mounting location and attached to the lower track at a corresponding first lower mounting location, and the power and network distribution unit is attached to the upper track at a second upper mounting location and attached to the lower track at a corresponding second lower mounting location.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for interaction prompt initiated video advertising are disclosed. According to one embodiment, a computer implemented method comprises storing digital advertising content, the digital content including digital video, and digital slideshows. An XML file is served from an ad server to a player embedded in a web site. One or more advertisements are dynamically generated from the XML file and the digital content. The one or more advertisements are displayed with video content requested through the web site.
Abstract:
A system is disclosed that provides a goal based learning system utilizing a rule based expert training system to provide a cognitive educational experience. The system provides the user with a simulated environment that presents a business opportunity to understand and solve optimally. Mistakes are noted and remedial educational material presented dynamically to build the necessary skills that a user requires for success in the business endeavor. The system utilizes an artificial intelligence engine driving individualized and dynamic feedback with synchronized video and graphics used to simulate real-world environment and interactions. A robust business model provides support for realistic activities and allows a user to experience real world consequences for their actions and decisions and entails realtime decision-making and synthesis of the educational material. The system is architectured around a table of components to manage and control the system.
Abstract:
In one aspect, a system for presenting a share box with content information in response to an endorsement includes an endorsement sharing module that is responsive to user input and creates a sharing box having content derived from the user context and input request. The endorsement sharing module receives a user request to share information. In response, this endorsement sharing module determines the context of the user, retrieves content based on the context, filters the content based on publisher information, personalizes the share box content, and adds the content to a share box. The endorsement sharing module also adds one or more actions to the share box after which the share box is provided for display to the user.
