    摘要: An angle encoder having bovine an incremental section and an absolute section and serving to detect angular positions of an encoder disk and the number of revolutions performed by said disk comprises an incremental measuring scale and an absolutely coded measuring scale provided on said disk and associated reading and evaluation means. In conjunction with a high angular resolution it is desired to determine any absolute position of the disk without a previous rotation of the disk. This is accomplished in that the encoder disk comprises in addition to an incremental scale an absolutely coded scale consisting of a serial bar code, from which multidigit code words are readable, which are associated with respective absolute angular positions of the disk. The absolutely coded measuring scale extends on a track that is radially offset from the incremental scale and comprises code bars having side edges which are radially aligned with the radial boundaries of the increments of the incremental scale. An associated reader consists of a multiline detector, which is adapted to detect a complete code word and has a pixel size that is adapted to the bar code. The evaluating unit determines an instantaneous position of the encoder disk in dependence on the signals generated in response to the scanning of both scales, and a counter is provided, which is independent of an external power source and serves to detect the number of revolutions which have been performed.

    摘要: A length measuring apparatus comprises a measuring device for detecting the position of a marker along a measuring path. The measuring device and the marker are encapsulated in a hermetically sealed housing. A follow-up device is provided for moving the marker to a predetermined position of registration relative to a detectable point, which is disposed outside the housing and is movable along a path which is parallel to and laterally aligned with the measuring path. The follow-up device comprises a device for establishing a non-contacting link between the detectable point and the marker. To provide such an apparatus which has a relatively simple design and a low susceptibility to disturbance and can achieve a high accuracy of measurement. The apparatus comprises a strip that is trained around reversing end pulleys and has a course that extends along the measuring path. The marker is carried by the course. The strip is adapted to be driven by the follow-up device and is provided with a measuring scale and in the housing extends past a stationary reader for reading the measuring scale.

    摘要: The angle encoder comprises a transmitter disk, which is provided with two circular measuring scales, preferably incremental measuring scales. A scanning unit is associated with each of said measuring scales and during a rotation of said disk relative to said scanning head is adapted to scan said scale with reflected light and to optoelectronically generate measured-value signals, such as control signals in response to said scanning. To minimize the effect of a radial runout on the accuracy of the measurement and to permit a providing of the measuring scales on the transmitter disk by a copying process, the transmitter disk has at least one frustoconical outside surface, which is centered on the axis of rotation and is provided with the measuring scales. A process of manufacturing the transmitter disk is also described.

    摘要: An incremental length measuring system comprises a scale member, which is provided with a measuring scale, a scanning unit having scanning elements for scanning the scale and for generating measured-value signals in response to the scanning of the scale, and an analyzing unit for analyzing the measured-value signals. The scale member comprises a reference track, which is parallel to the measuring scale and provided with a plurality of selectable reference marks associated with respective reference points. The scanning unit comprises a plurality of scanning elements associated with respective ones of the reference marks. A selector switch is provided, which is movable in unison with the scanning unit and is operable by permanent magnet devices, which are associated with any of the reference marks when it has been selected and are contained in a protective housing that contains the scale member and the scanning unit. The selector switch is operable to permit a generation or delivery of a reference pulse in response to the scanning of a reference mark by the scanning unit only when the reference mark has been selected. To facilitate the selection of a desired reference mark, a permanent magnet which is mounted within the protective housing is permanently associated with each selectable reference mark and each of the permanent magnets is selectively movable between an inactive position and an active position, in which the permanent magnet is arranged to actuate the selector switch.

    摘要: An optoelectronic incremental measuring system for measuring lengths or angles comprises a scale member provided with an incremental scale and a scanning unit, which is adjustable along the scale and comprises scanning grids, which are spaced apart by an integral multiple and a fractional part of a scale increment, a plurality of optoelectronic receivers associated with respective ones of such grids, and a plurality of light-emitting diodes, which are associated with the respective grids and adapted to illuminate the associated receiver via the scale and the associated scanning grid. In such a system a movement of the scanning unit and the scale relative to each other will cause the receivers to generate phase-displaced sine signals having periods in a number depending on the number of scale increments traversed by the scanning unit. The signals generated by the receivers can be adjusted relative to each other in amplitude and phase because the positions of the light-emitting diodes are individually adjustable.

    摘要: A scale assembly is provided with a scale which has a predetermined scale increment. The scale assembly consists of a plurality of scale sections, each of which is provided with a length portion of said scale and which are separated by joints having in the longitudinal direction of said scale a width that is smaller than a predetermined width. A measuring slide is movable along said scale and carries first and second photoelectric sensor means, which are spaced apart along said scale by a distance which exceeds said predetermined width. Each of said sensor means are adapted to be enabled and when enabled are adapted to photoelectrically scan said scale and to deliver a predetermined number of length signals in response to the movement of said slide along said scale to the extent of each of said increments. Integrating means are provided for integrating each of said length signals from each of said sensor means which are enabled. A change-over switch is shiftable between first and second states and arranged to enable said first and second sensor means in said first and second positions, respectively. Control means are carried by said slide and arranged to shift said change-over switch from either of said states to the other in response to the movement of said sensor means which are enabled at a time to one of said joints.

The evaluating unit is adapted to detect the position of the beginning of the detected code word relative to the detector and to read each code word so as to determine the instantaneous absolute position in coarse steps and is also adapted to detect the position-dependent signals generated in response to the scanning of the incremental scale elements and to coordinate them with the signals from said detector for a determination of the instantaneous absolute position in fine steps.

    摘要: A scanning unit comprises offset scanning gratings and light receivers disposed behind respective gratings. The scanning unit is moved past an incremental scale and the receivers are illuminated through the scale and the gratings. Carrier frequency signals which are displaced in phase and are amplitude-modulated in dependence on the pitch of the scale are generated in response to the scanning movement. The phase displacement of the modulation of the carrier signal is evaluated to determine the instantaneously scanned fraction of a scale increment in that a proportional number of clock pulses are counted by a counter. The use of a simple and reliable circuit arrangement and a reliable evaluation are permitted in that the illumination is modulated at the carrier frequency so that the light receivers constitute means for effecting an amplitude modulation of the carrier frequency signal. The amplitude-modulated signal is then processed further. The modulating signals corresponding to full scale increments may be separately detected and may be used to detect the direction of the scanning movement and to measure the full scale increments which have been scanned.
