摘要： A composite sealing unit for sealing between moving parts in a valve is disclosed. The sealing unit has a sealing portion that interfaces with the moving parts and is adapted to isolate a reinforcing portion from media within the valve. The reinforcing portion, which can be encapsulated within the sealing unit, is operative to enhance the resiliency of the sealing unit.

摘要： A valve assembly for use in a system carrying radioactive slurry. The valve assembly consists of a valve body with a bore, an inlet and an outlet port communicating with the bore; a valve member having a passage extending therethrough. The valve member is received in the bore of the valve body and is rotatable between a first position in which the passage of the valve member is aligned with the inlet and outlet ports of the valve body providing fluid communication between the inlet and outlet ports of the valve body and a second position in which the valve member shuts off or blocks the above fluid communication. The valve body and valve member are removable as a unit from the valve housing via a tubular extension which extends from the bore in the valve body to a location above and remote from the valve housing. This extension provides for the removal of the valve body and valve member as a unit from the valve housing and subsequent replacement thereof by a new unit or the old unit after repairs have been made thereon.

摘要： The remote control and remote handling accessory is of such design that anxchange part (7) contains all elements subject to wear of the accessory, while the anti-wear elements, in particular the accessory case (2) remain firmly connected to the pipeline (1). The exchange part (7) and the accessory case (2) are mutually fixed by a clamping bracket (9). The exchange part (7) comprises a central bolt (16) which is displaceable with respect to the other components of the exchange part (7) and is supported in both axial directions by the clamping bracket (9) which is adapted to be swung open. In this manner the exchange part can be pressed into and pulled out of the anti-wear part (accessory case 2). The other components of the exchange part (7) are connected to a cover (15) with respect to which the central bolt (16) is rotatable, the cover (15) being secured to a slide shoe (8) of a stationary guide rail (4). The anti-wear elements of the accessory and particularly of the accessory case (2) are held firmly at the stationary guide rail (4). The clamping bracket (9) is pivotably secured to the accessory case (2).

摘要： A rotary plug valve has a frusto-conical valve plug (4) received within a frusto-conical valve chamber with a tapered valve liner (3) being provided between the two. The chamber and the plug are oppositely tapered so that by axial movement of the plug the valve liner can be wedged into tight sealing engagement with the external surface of the valve plug and the internal surface of the valve chamber. The liner and the valve plug are insertable and removable as a unit from the frusto-conical chamber.

摘要： An operating mechanism for a rotary valve comprises a rack 18 reciprocatable within a housing 10 by an actuator 20 axially movable from outside the housing through an access aperture 30. The rack engages a pinion 14 connectable with a valve stem 16. A bellows seal 24 surrounds the actuator and is sealed at one end to the rack and at the other end to the housing about the aperture to prevent escape of any noxious fluids which might escape past the valve gland into the operating mechanism housing when sealingly mounted to the valve body.

摘要： A rotary plug valve has a tapered plug received within a frusto-conical chamber in a valve housing. A liner between the plug and chamber wall comprises a rigid metal cage partly enclosed by plastics material to provide a seal with the plug and the chamber wall with the through passage through the liner being defined by flanged portions of the metal cage. The liner and plug are removable as a unit from the chamber in the valve housing. Preferably the plastics material is moulded about the cage and is keyed to the cage by portions thereof extending through apertures of the cage.
