Abstract:
A canopy apparatus for a kayak comprises a bracket configured to be mounted to a kayak deck and a canopy. The canopy has a base member adapted to engage the bracket to releasably secure the canopy to the kayak deck and a cover pivotally connected to the base member. The cover is selectively movable between collapsed and expanded positions. The forward edge of the cover may further be adapted to carry a plurality of lights, preferably LEDs.
Abstract:
A method and computer for responding to an assistance request message. An assistance request message from a requester mobile device associated with a requester is received at a response computer. The assistance request message includes at least one input parameter. A responder is determined, from multiple potential responders, to respond to the assistance request message. The responder is associated with responder data corresponding to the at least one input parameter. An availability inquiry message to a responder device associated with the responder is transmitted. A response to the availability inquiry message is received from the responder device. When the response to the availability inquiry message indicates that the responder is available to respond to the assistance request message, the requester mobile device is notified that the responder is available.
Abstract:
A workstation is disclosed including a tabletop, a frame, a support coupled to the tabletop and the frame for supporting the tabletop vertically above the frame, and a powered rotator coupled to the frame. The powered rotator may be configured to move the support and the tabletop horizontally along an arcuate path with respect to a user position. The user position and a center of curvature of the arcuate path may each be disposed away from a forward edge of the tabletop. A method of moving a tabletop of a workstation is also disclosed.
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to malate salts of (3S,5S)-7-[3-amino-5-methyl-piperidinyl]-1-cyclopropyl-1,4-dihydro-8-methoxy-4-oxo-3-quinolinecarboxylic acid, and its polymorphs. The present invention is also directed to pharmaceutical compositions comprising the described salts and polymorphs.
Abstract:
A method of correcting a computerized ledger for deposit discrepancies uses a display such as a window to record a deposit transaction. An amount of receipts and an amount of adjustment are provided to account for cash over and cash under adjustments to a bank deposit. The data is stored in a computerized ledger system. A real time output is provided from the computerized ledger system that represents the amount of receipts adjusted by the amount of adjustment. Real time, such as same day, accounting data relating to deposits is available for reporting and decision-making.
Abstract:
A billiard glove and a method of forming a billiard glove including a first finger sheath, wherein the first finger sheath is configured to cover at least a portion of a first finger, a second finger sheath, wherein the second finger sheath is configured to cover at least a portion of a second finger; and a strip having a first portion and a second portion, wherein said first portion is affixed to the first finger sheath and the second portion is attached to the second finger sheath.
Abstract:
A method is described for stereoselectively reducing an unsaturated alkyl ketone substituent attached to a fused ring base. In this method, the unsaturated alkyl ketone reacts with a chiral oxazaborolidine reagent. This reaction stereoselectively reduces the unsaturated alkyl ketone to an unsaturated alkyl alcohol. The unsaturated alkyl alcohol can be further reduced, if desired, to produce a saturated alkyl alcohol. The fused ring base can be, for example, a steroid ring base or a base of a vitamin D analog. The process in accordance with the invention can be used with an alkeneone substituent (e.g., a 22-ene-24-one substituent) or an alkyneone substituent (e.g., a 22-yne-24-one substituent) on a steroid ring base to make squalamine or other useful aminosterol compounds and intermediates for making aminosterol compounds.
Abstract:
The present invention discloses 3-pyridyl-1-hydroxyethylidene-1,1-bisphosphonic acid sodium hemipentahydrate and monohydrate, methods of preparing the hemipentahydrate or monohydrate through control of the nucleation temperature and rate of crystallization and pharmaceutical compositions containing one or both of the hydrate forms.
