Abstract:
This invention relates generally to magnetic sensors and related systems and methods. In some aspects of the invention, a magnetic sensor assembly includes a housing configured to releasably hold a medical fluid tube and a sensor secured to the housing, the sensor configured to detect a change in a strength of a magnetic field when a medical fluid passes through the medical fluid tube.
Abstract:
This disclosure relates to medical tubing installation detection. In certain aspects, a method is performed by a data processing apparatus. The method includes detecting that a tube is incorrectly installed on a drug delivery device by providing an instruction for a motor of the drug delivery device to pump a drug and receiving, after a period of time has passed since providing the instruction for the motor of the drug delivery device to pump the drug, a signal from a fluid detector connected to the tube, the signal indicating an absence of fluid in the tube.
Abstract:
A valve comprising a valve housing (10), having a valve seat (18) therein, a valve member (16) moveable via a valve spindle (15) between positions spaced from and seated on the valve seat. The valve member is required to lap a plurality of times on the valve seat to compensate for any variation of tolerance between the valve member and the valve seat resulting from build up of medium or erosion. The valve spindle extends outwardly from the valve housing and a pair of pillars (28) extend from the valve housing to a bridge member (30) whilst the collar (36) in threadable engagement with the valve spindle extends to and surrounds the pillars to be axially moveable relative thereto. Belleville washers (41) are provided between the underside of the collar and washers (47) forming abutments carried by the pillars. The Belleville washers compensate for relative movement between the valve spindle and the valve housing during lapping action of the valve member on the valve seat. Additional pillars (28) extend between the bridge member (30) and the valve housing (10) and the bridge member carries a hydraulic motor (34) to rotate the valve spindle (15) via a bevel gear box mechanism 32.
Abstract:
Concrete weight 14 coating on a subsea pipe has slots 82, 84 made in it by means of a circular saw carried by a first apparatus mounted on the pipe. The saw also cuts two spaced circumferential slots. All slots sever all steel reinforcement. The slots have boundary surfaces defining two semi-cylindrical pieces of concrete 15, 17. A second apparatus replaces the first. It has a frame 90 clamped by chains to the pipe outside the pieces 15, 17. Two assemblies 98 adjustably spaced apart along the frame include plates 100 which are forced apart by clyinders 102. The plates 100 are guided downwards by cam tracks 116 and rollers 118 as the plates 120 swing down about pins 126. The plates 100 continue to exert thrust on the boundary surfaces of the slot 84 as the two pieces 15, 17 separate. The thrust on either piece of coating is at least partly reacted against the other so reducing the turning moment on the frame 90.
Abstract:
This disclosure relates to preventing over-delivery of a drug and related systems and methods. The method includes receiving, from a drug delivery device, information pertaining to a desired amount of fluid to be delivered by the drug delivery device and receiving information pertaining to a delivered amount of a fluid that has been delivered by the drug delivery device. The method also includes determining that the delivered amount satisfies a predetermined threshold amount and in response to the determination, detecting whether an initial amount of fluid provided to the drug delivery device corresponds to the desired amount of fluid to be delivered.

Abstract:
The current invention is a seal for use in a manifold spray gun system comprising an elastomer disk having a film body with opposite first and second sides. The disk is configured with one or more openings extending through the disk from the first side to the second side and with raised surfaces around the openings. The disk also has a perimeter bead on both sides.

This disclosure relates to detecting fluid in medical tubing. In certain aspects, a method is performed by a data processing apparatus. The method includes controlling repetitive activation of the ultrasonic transmitter. The method also includes receiving a signal from the ultrasonic receiver during an activation of the ultrasonic transmitter. The method also includes determining that fluid is absent or present in a portion of the medical fluid tube based on a comparison between the signal and a threshold value.
