摘要: An image data transmitting apparatus and an image data transmitting method are provided which can distribute streaming moving images at a transfer rate in accordance with a transmission band with degradation in image quality being mitigated even at the time of congestion. A priority determining section 43 reads encoded data stored in the buffer 42 in units of VOP, and then calculates a priority for each VP in terms of VOP based on the amount of encoded data of VP and the number of MBs. A transmission control section 44 determines VPs starting from a VP of the highest priority that have a data amount up to the amount of transmittable encoded data. This determination is made based on the current state of congestion on a network 6 managed by a congestion state managing section 46 and the priorities calculated by the priority determining section 43. A VP transmitting section 45 stores the determined VPs in transmission packets for sequential transmission to a client 5.

摘要: The invention aims to protect content copyright and reduce the load on a stream server device in a stream distribution system having the stream server device, which stores bitstreams that include contents and control information necessary for image playback of contents, a plurality of terminal devices that playback received bitstreams, and a cache server device that mediates between these devices. A header separation unit in the stream server device separates header information, which is control information, from a bitstream stored in a storage unit. A data transmitting unit transmits the bitstream from which header information has been removed to the cache server device before a predetermined time, and transmits the header information to the cache server device at the predetermined time. The cache server device transmits a bitstream that combines the bitstream, which was received first, and the header information, which was received later, to a terminal device. The terminal device receives the bitstream at the predetermined time, and plays the content.

摘要: An image processing device for processing an original image divided into a plurality of blocks that are made up of a plurality of picture elements from encoded image-data which is obtained by encoding a spatial-frequency component of the block as a plurality of spatial-frequency coefficients, and producing reduced encoded image-data which is encoded data on a reduced image that is obtained by reducing the original image to a given reduction rate. If the block in the encoded image-data of the original image is in an area where the value of the function is small due to gentle change in brightness or color of the image, for example, only the direct-current component coefficient of is used for the block. On the other hand, if the block is in a area where the value of the function is large because the area is a boundary area, for example, such as an outline in the image, limited number of lower spatial frequency-coefficients are used for the block. The number is based on the reduction rate of the image.

摘要: A resource management system is composed of a plurality of application programs, a resource management information database, and a resource manager. Each application program executes data transfer using resources. The resource management database stores resource management information and key information for each resource. Upon receipt of a resource use request from an application program, the resource manager judges whether the requested resource can be allocated to the application program by referring to the resource capacity and the currently-allocated volume of the resource that are included in the information database. If judging that the requested resource can be allocated, the resource manager gives authorization to the application program to use the resource. The resource manager also controls resource allocation by restricting a data transfer bandwidth used by an application program and requesting a resource release on expiration of the valid time period.

摘要: A nonlinear broadcast system with improved entire resource utilization efficiency gives priority to securing hardware resources for broadcast, for preventing broadcast accidents. A hardware resource management unit determines resource allocation at reproduction start time and reproduction end time of each video data, based on a time schedule of an editing list in a HDD for reproducing plurality of video data. A hardware resource amount such as bandwidth for access to the hard disc is made varied to minimize an allocation amount to each video data. Suppose one video data transfer from the HDD for reproduction requires bandwidth 60 Mbps. In a duration where one video data is reproduced, bandwidth 60 Mpbs is secured, while in a duration where two video data are mixed and reproduced, bandwidth 120 Mbps is secured. To background processing such as network material transfer, allocation is performed by fully utilizing the remaining hardware resource after the allocation for reproduction.
