Abstract:
Provided are spunbond polyester mats using an improved curable composition. Such curable composition comprises the reaction product of an aldehyde or ketone and an amine salt of an inorganic acid. The composition when applied to spunbond polyester continuous filaments is cured to form a water-insoluble polymer binder which exhibits good adhesion and thermodimensional stability.
Abstract:
Leaching alkali ions from a glass substrate to form a glass substrate having an intrinsic alkali barrier layer includes providing a glass substrate comprising alkali metal ions and having at least two opposing surfaces and a thickness between the surfaces, and contacting at least one of the surfaces of the substrate with a solution comprising alkaline earth salts in either water or as a melted salt bath such that at least a portion of the alkali metal ions are replaced by alkaline earth metal ions in the at least one surface and into the thickness to form the glass substrate having an intrinsic alkali barrier layer.

Abstract:
The adder-subtractor includes a pre-processing circuit which divides three inputted terms into a mantissa having an exponent of maximum value, mantissa having an exponent of intermediate value and mantissa having an exponent of minimum magnitude and outputting a mantissa obtained by right-shifting the mantissa having the exponent of intermediate value and the mantissa having the minimum exponent of 2n+3 bits and adjusting digits and the mantissa having the maximum exponent, which reduces the mantissas from three to two terms, which carries out addition on the mantissas of the two terms, a normalization circuit which makes left shift so that the most significant bit becomes 1, a rounding circuit which uses an (n+3)th bit from the most significant bit as a new sticky bit, takes logical OR with the lower bits and performs rounding and an exponent operation unit which outputs a final exponent.
Abstract:
The invention describes a tracking, security and status monitoring system (TSS) and modular tracking and security device (MTSD). The tracking and security system includes at least one MTSD adapted for containment within a shipment within a vehicle and for operative communication with a global navigation satellite system (GNSS) (such as the global positioning system (GPS)), cellular networks and a monitoring system. In various embodiments, the MTSD is modular allowing for different sensor systems to be configured to the system, is operative to optimize power consumption and network data usage in the absence of a security event or inquiry from the monitoring system and/or allows the MTSD to recognize when it is within an airborne aircraft to comply with aviation regulations with respect to the operation of RF devices within aircraft. In addition, the system, by using both GNSS and cellular technology (ie. assisted GPS) is effective in being able to determine the real time position of a shipment from a greater number of positions and from deeper within shipment containers or vehicles.

Abstract:
A multistage interconnection network capable of performing highly reliable communications with less hardware. In the multistage interconnection network for interconnecting a plurality of nodes, the first and final stages each have switches two times as large as the number of switches at an intermediate stage. Two output ports of each node are connected to the input ports of different first stage switches, and two input ports are connected to the output ports of final stage different switches. The input ports of switches of the intermediate stage are connected to the output ports of first stage different switches, and the output ports are connected to the input ports of final stage different switches. At least one output port of each switch at the first stage is directly connected to at least one input port of an optional switch at the final stage.

The composition when applied to polymeric fibers is cured to form a water-insoluble polymer binder which exhibits good adhesion and thermodimensional stability.
Abstract:
Provided are spunbond polyester mats using an improved curable composition. The curable composition comprises a reaction product of an amine and a reactant in the form of an amino-amide intermediate. To the amino-amide is added an aldehyde or ketone to form the curable binder composition. The composition when used as a binder in the mat is cured to form a water-insoluble binder which exhibits good adhesion and thermodimensional stability.
Abstract:
A mounted polarizer and corresponding assembly method is provided. The mounted polarizer includes a substrate, and a polarizer with a plurality of parallel wires mounted on a supporting base. An epoxy binds the polarizer to the substrate, such that the plurality of parallel wires is mounted between the substrate and the supporting base, and the epoxy is in direct contact with the plurality of wires. The substrate, the epoxy and the supporting base all have a substantially matching refractive index. The mounted polarizer substantially transmits one polarization of light, and substantially blocks transmission of another polarization of light.
