Abstract:
A needle magazine for holding a plurality of injection needles (50) is described. The needle magazine comprises a first opening adapted to receive the device fluid access portion (120) of a medical delivery device. Each needle (50) is selectively moveable from a respective storage position not aligned with said first opening into a needle mounting position aligned with said first opening. The needle magazine further comprises needle positioning means (41). configured to alter the mutual position between a needle selected from said plurality of needles (50) relative to a neighbour needle when said selected needle moves from its storage position to the needle mounting position.
Abstract:
Headset for connection to a telephone apparatus, said headset comprising a capsule with a built-in receiver, and on which there is mounted a boom with a microphone. The headset is connected to a telephone apparatus by means of a wire with associated jack connection, and the headset has associated amplification and adjustment circuits for both the microphone and receiver, manual operating elements for the setting of said amplification and adjustment circuits, and switch elements for changeover depending partly on the type of microphone in the telephone apparatus and partly on the polarity of the telephone apparatus' microphone and receiver wires. The amplification and adjustment circuits are built into the headset capsule, so that the use of a separate connection box is avoided, and the manual operation elements are placed on the capsule. The switching elements consist of a multi-position switch, which is placed in the capsule in such a manner that it is accessible for operation.
Abstract:

In particular, the present invention relates to nucleic acid molecules coding for ERK-5; ERK-5 polypeptides; recombinant nucleic acid molecules; cells containing the recombinant nucleic acid molecules; antisense ERK-5 nucleic acid constructs; antibodies having binding affinity to an ERK-5 polypeptide; hybridomes containing the antibodies; nucleic acid probes for the detecting of ERK-5 nucleic acid; a method of detecting ERK-5 nucleic acid or polypeptide in a sample; kits containing nucleic acid probes or antibodies; a method of detecting a compound capable of binding to ERK-5 or a fragment thereof; a method of detecting an agonist or antagonist of ERK-5 activity; a method of agonizing or antagonizing ERK-5 associated activity in a mammal; a method of treating diabetes mellitus, skeletal muscle diseases, Alzheimer's disease, or peripheral neuropathies in a mammal with an agonist or antagonist of ERK-5 activity; and a pharmaceutical composition comprising an ERK-5 agonist or antagonist.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a medication delivery device comprising a cartridge assembly, a dosing assembly and optionally a needle assembly. The cartridge assembly comprises a cartridge having a stopper adapted to receive a plunger means. Furthermore, the cartridge assembly has one end sealed with a pierceable sealing, said end comprising coupling means for engaging a needle assembly, and another end comprising coupling means for engaging the dosing assembly. At least one of the coupling means of the cartridge assembly is unitarily moulded with the cartridge. The dosing assembly comprises a plunger means and has coupling means for engaging the cartridge assembly. The cartridge assembly and the dosing assembly are coupled together for delivering selected doses of medication. The cartridge is preferably moulded from a plastic material, such as a transparent material, and may be housed in a cartridge housing for protection of the cartridge. The coupling means may be selected from threaded locks, snap locks, hinged locks, or bajonet locks. The medication delivery device is especially suitable for delivering insulin, growth hormone or other medicines.
Abstract:
According to an embodiment of the invention, an ostomy appliance coupling system is disclosed. The system comprises a wafer part having a rise extending away from a body surface to form a guide means and a shallow landing zone; a pouch part having a guide adapted to engage with the landing zone in a desired location relative to the guide means; and an adhesive layer recessed within the guide and adapted to adhere to the landing zone.
Abstract:
The invention concerns an apparatus for the registration of the setting of a medical device, the setting of which implies a mechanical adjustment of at least two relatively moveable elements of the device. The invention is characterized in that the apparatus is intended for disconnectible engagement with the medical device, and that it has detector means for detecting the mechanical adjustment and has information means arranged for providing information related to said mechanical adjustment.
Abstract:
When pouring casting cavities in casting moulds having after-feeding reservoirs, tubular lances are introduced, firstly with their point at a short distance from the after-feeding reservoir, after which the lances are pressurized from a pressure chamber and by means of a member with an inclined surface pressed downwardly through the last short distance to the after-feeding reservoir so as to pressurize the latter. With this arrangement it is possible to pressurize the after-feeding reservoirs without the need of equipping the casting moulds with complicated extra equipment and without risk of the molten metal being pressurized unnecessarily.

Abstract:
In a filling-tube construction (1, 2) for providing a connection between a mould (6) to be filled with molten metal and a mould-filling furnace (3) containing molten metal (5), said mould (6) having at least one casting cavity (7), the lowermost part of each such cavity communicating with a filling duct (8), at least one end of which is open to the outside of said mould (6) and adapted to be temporarily connected to the filling-tube construction (1, 2) to receive molten metal (5) from the mould-filling furnace (3), the mould-filling furnace being adapted to contain molten metal (5) and to transfer said molten metal (5) under a controlled pressure through the filling-tube construction (1, 2) and to the filling duct (8), the filling-tube construction comprises a first section (1) extending from a position close to the bottom of said mould-filling furnace (3) up to an intermediate position closer to the filling duct (8) and at least one separate second section (2) providing a connection from the upper end of the first section (1) to the open end of the filling duct (8) and adapted to provide a fluid-tight connection to the upper end of the first section (1) and the open end of the filling duct (8). In this way an easy adjustment and/or exchange of parts of the filling-tube constructions can be provided by simply adjusting and/or exchanging the second section (2), without disassembly of the connection between the first section (1) and the mould-filling furnace (3). The invention also includes a method of modifying a conventional constructed filling tube to a filling tube as described above.
Abstract:
An acoustic transmission connection, e.g. for a headset (13), comprises a sound tube (2) through which speech signals can be transmitted from a first end (16) to a transducer, e.g. a microphone, in a housing or a housing part (3) of the headset. In the sound tube (2) and in the housing part (3), means are provided for acoustic impedance matching and possibly means for achieving acoustic directivity.
