The invention is based on a method and system for regulation and/or control of an automobile chassis where between the vehicle body and at least one wheel there is at least one actuator actuated by actuation signals for exertion of forces between the vehicle and the at least one wheel. At least parts of the actuation signals are so formed that the vertical movements of the vehicle body will be damped inertially. According to the invention, at least parts of the actuation signals (Fij) are so formed that the damping takes place dependent on the magnitude of the vertical velocity (Zaij') of the vehicle body.

The invention at hand concerns a method and a system for transmitting data in an optical transmission system. A measuring signal is generated having a wavelength which differs from the wavelengths of a data signal that includes the data to be transmitted. The measuring signal is coupled in the optical transmission system, reflected after passing through the transmission path and decoupled again. The coupled measuring signal is compared with the decoupled reflected measuring signal. By taking into account the comparison results, a compensation of the change of the data signal resulting from the dispersion in the fiber is performed in such a way that the data included in the data signal can be used.

The present arrangement provides a method for monitoring the performance reliability of a control unit and/or at least one sensor of a safety device for the protection of vehicle occupants, comprising the steps that a negative acceleration or velocity caused by an impact, in particular, be recorded; a value for the impact severity be derived from the recorded acceleration or velocity; and the value for the impact severity be compared to a predefined threshold value. If the value for the impact severity exceeds the predefined threshold value, an error-function signal will be output, which indicates that the proper functioning can no longer be ensured for the control unit and/or for at least one sensor.
