摘要: The method for forming rings of uniform thickness from an active brazing alloy by melt-spinning the liquid alloy has the following steps: The alloy is liquefied in a crucible having a lateral opening whose height is approximately equal to the width of the ring material; the liquid alloy is forced out of the crucible onto the side surface of a metal drum of high thermal conductivity at a radial distance from the drum center approximately equal to the ring diameter, said metal drum rotating at a high circumferential velocity at a distance from the crucible approximately equal to the ring thickness; after an,,,approximately quarter to three-quarter turn of the active brazing alloy solidified on the metal drum into ring material, the latter is lifted off the metal drum by a mechanical deflector or a gas stream blown onto it in a direction opposite to the direction of rotation of the metal drum, and guided past the crucible; the ring helix being formed is guided around a lateral, coaxial extension of the metal drum which is located on one side of the crucible, serves as a winding mandrel, and has an end flange and a diameter slightly smaller than the inner diameter of the rings, and from the ring helix, the rings are cut off.

摘要: A system and associated method for building a knowledgebase for a software system. The knowledgebase has multiple problem-solution records for problems that may occur in the software system. A user of the knowledgebase requests a solution to a problem by submitting a problem description and payment information. The payment information is separately verified and the knowledgebase is searched for a problem-solution record that has the same problem description provided by the user. A solution of the matched problem-solution record is presented to the user and the user provides a feedback rating how effective the solution is in solving the problem. The feedback may be another solution for the problem or evidences supporting the feedback. If the feedback is evaluated to be valuable, the knowledgebase may be updated with the feedback. An author of an existing valuable solution and/or the user who provided another solution is rewarded.

摘要: This active brazing serves to braze ceramic parts or single crystals or metal parts or to braze ceramic parts to single crystals or ceramic parts or single crystals to metal parts. In addition to the zirconium-nickel alloy, which is composed of 70 atom % to 85 atom % zirconium and 15 atom % to 30 atom % nickel, it contains titanium. In an apparatus for fabricating a foil (6) from this ternary active-brazing alloy by melt spinning which has a uniform thickness and two surfaces that are as smooth as possible, the alloy, after being melted by high-frequency heating in a cylindrical crucible (1) made completely of a high-temperature-resistant and highly thermally conductive nonmetallic material, particularly of high-density graphite or of boron nitride, is forced through an opening (3) in the bottom of the crucible onto a metal drum (5) of high thermal conductivity rotating at a high circumferential speed, on which the liquid alloy solidifies at a cooling rate on the order of 10.sup.3 to 10.sup.6 .degree. C./s. A product made using this ternary active brazing is a pressure sensor (10) having a substrate (12) and a diaphragm (11) of ceramic, particularly alumina ceramic, preferably with a purity of 96 wt.%, which are thermally joined around the periphery in a defined spaced relationship (d) and parallel to each other by means of the active brazing, e.g., by means of a preform (20) made therefrom, thus forming a chamber (13).

摘要: Juxtaposed nozzle openings apply the same or different melts to the surface of a moving cooler surface for producing thin metal strips or foils with a considerable width. The nozzle openings can be staggered in the direction of movement of the cooler surface and apply different materials to produce a metal strip with juxtaposed and sharply defined regions with different characteristics. Amorphous or mixed amorphous/crystalline, or solely crystalline material structures can also be produced. Alternatively, different cooling capacities on different cooler surface areas and different structuring of different cooler surface areas permit the melt to solidify on the cooler surface such that the strips or foils obtained have adjacent regions with different metallic and/or geometrical structures. By geometrical configuration of the cooler surface, foils with a structured surface or with shape-limited individual regions can be used for mass production of small parts from sheet or strip material.

摘要: Method and apparatus for automatic optical inspection of a substantially two-dimensional pattern using digital image processing techniques are described. In a first processing step, all regions of a digitized stored image derived from the two-dimensional pattern are scanned for edges or lines, that is, transitions between regions having optically different characteristics. The scanned edge regions are marked in the image storage. In a subsequent second processing step all non-marked regions of the image storage are scanned and tested for the presence of permissible grey levels. A meander-shaped scanning track is used for scanning the edge or lined regions. The apparatus for implementing this method includes special latch circuitry for eliminating the further processing of marked regions, thus increasing the overall speed at which the two-dimensional pattern can be optically inspected.
