    摘要: The invention relates to an elevator comprising a hoistway; an elevator car vertically movable in the hoistway; at least one rope connected to the car; a rotatable traction member comprising a circumferential traction surface for each of the at least one rope; each of the at least one rope passing around the rotatable traction member and having a front side surface resting against a circumferential traction surface of the traction member, the front side surface and/or the traction surface of the rotatable traction member being made of material comprising polymer; and a drive machinery for controlling rotation of the rotatable traction member; and activatable pressing means for pressing the at least one rope against the circumferential traction surface of the traction member which comprise a pressing shoe mounted on the back side of and out of contact with the rope section of each of said at least one rope, which rope section rests against the rotatable traction member, the pressing shoe being movable towards the back side surface of said rope section; and actuating means activatable to move the pressing shoe towards the back side surface of said rope section such that the pressing shoe moves into contact with and presses the rope section against the circumferential traction surface of the traction member; and activating means for activating the actuating means to move the pressing shoe towards the back side surface of said rope section.

    摘要: Stall condition in an elevator is potentially dangerous situation if it causes slack to the ropes of the elevator. In such situation a counterweight or elevator car does not move even if the hoisting machine is still operating. This situation may be prevented by stopping the elevator as early as possible after detecting such stall condition. The detection of the stall condition is based on monitoring the torque generated by the hoisting machine of the elevator. When rapid change in the torque is detected a stall condition is suspected. The elevator may be stopped or an alarm may be launched when the stall condition is suspected.

    摘要: In the method and elevator of the invention, which preferably is an elevator without machine room, in which elevator the elevator car is at least partially supported by a set of hoisting ropes. The hoisting ropes comprise one rope or a number of parallel ropes. The elevator has a traction sheave which moves the elevator car by means of the hoisting ropes. The elevator comprises rope portions of hoisting ropes going upwards and downwards from the elevator car, and the rope portions going upwards from the elevator car are under a first rope tension (T1) and the rope portions going downwards from the elevator car are under a second rope tension (T2). The elevator has a compensating device acting on the hoisting ropes to equalize and/or compensate rope tension and/or rope elongation and/or to render the ratio (T1/T2) of the first and the second rope tensions substantially constant. The compensating device comprises an arrangement producing an auxiliary force acting substantially in the same direction with the first rope tension (T1).

    摘要: A car speed monitoring assembly for an elevator includes an elongated flexible member tensioned to extend in a hoistway of the elevator in a longitudinal direction of the hoistway and first and second rollers mounted rotatably on an elevator car and tensioned against a lateral side of the elongated flexible member. Each roller may roll along a surface of the lateral side of the elongated flexible member based on the elevator car moving relative to the elongated flexible member. The car speed monitoring assembly may detect respective rotation speeds of the first roller and the second roller, trigger one or more particular actions when one or both of these rotation speeds exceeds a limit speed, and trigger the one or more particular actions based on the respective rotation speeds deviating from each other. The one or more particular actions include causing movement of the elevator car to be stopped.
