    摘要： A tile extrusion machine comprises an endless loop conveyor which carries the pallets through the extrusion apparatus at a constant speed. The conveyor comprises a succession of links forming a continuous surface to support the pallets across their widths and along their lengths, adjacent links being pivotally coupled together about axes perpendicular to the direction of movement of the conveyor, the axes being below the level of the pallet-supporting surfaces and directly below the ends of or outside the lengths of the pallet-supporting surfaces of the links, so that when a link pivots at either end of the conveyor no part of the link moves above the pallet-supporting surface of the links running over the bed.

    摘要： Apparatus for feeding relative to a molding machine a continuous stream of pallets arranged end-to-end, characterized by the provision of pallet drive means including endless conveyor means upon which are pivotally connected a series of spaced driving elements each of which includes a nose portion for engaging an appropriate rearwardly directed face on the pallets, and a follower portion adapted for engagement by stationary cam track means. The cam track means includes an inclined first portion that converges at an acute angle toward the horizontal axis of the upper run of the conveyor means, and a second portion that is generally parallel with said axis. When the follower portion of a given drive element engages the first track portion, the drive member is pivoted from a retracted position forwardly relative to the conveyor means to drive the pallets at a speed greater than that of said conveyor means. When the follower portion engages the second track portion, the drive element travels at the speed of the conveyor means, and consequently the faster travelling pallets-which are now driven by a subsequent drive element whose follower portion is in engagement with the first track portionprogress out of engagement with the nose portion of said given drive element.

    摘要： Apparatus for cutting a continuously moving ribbon of tile forming material into discrete tiles of equal length and subsequently trimming the leading edge of each tile, comprises means for moving the ribbon past a cutting station and then a trimming station. At at least one of said stations there is provided a knife mounted on a knife holder reciprocable longitudinally of the direction of travel of the ribbon or tiles. The means for reciprocating the knife holder include a crank member adapted to be rotated once for each length of tile that passes said one station, the throw of the crank member being selected so that during the cutting action of the knife the forward linear speed of the knife is first less than, then greater than, and then finally less than the speed of the ribbon or tile being cut.

    摘要： A tile manufacturing plant includes apparatus for dividing a stream of freshly moulded tiles on pallets into two streams, comprising a first conveyor which carries the pallets at regular intervals and a second conveyor, synchronized with the first, which removes selected pallets from the first conveyor to form a second stream. The second conveyor comprises two parallel chains, situated one on each side of the first conveyor and diverging upwardly from the path thereof, the chains having at intervals along their lengths lifter sections to engage under and lift pallets on the first conveyor. The plant also includes apparatus for loading the streams of pallets into racks for curing the tiles, and for unloading the racks.
