    摘要: With the intent of satisfying the requirement of x-ray lithography a plasma pinch x-ray source has been developed in which the initial plasma annulus is derived from a plurality of electrical arcs in vacuum. This gives a low mass liner for the standard imploding plasma liner configuration to emit suitable x-rays and has the capability of being fired at repetition rates of 10 pps or more. The simplicity of this source design is especially attractive for a commercial use environment.

    摘要: An equipment is described to produce soymilk without the undesirable beany flavor and bitter taste of ordinary soymilk. The equipment comprises grinding soybeans totally in an aqueous medium at room temperature without trapping any air, cooking the resulting slurry, and separating the undesolved solids to extract soymilk. The fact that no heat needs to be given to soybeans prior to or during the grinding operation, yields very high percentage of solids in soybeans as dissolved solids in soymilk without rendering chalkiness found in the soymilks made employing the hot-grind and blanching methods. The equipment can also be used for making bland nutritional extracts of other protein rich seeds which are known to give rise to flavor problem in foods made from them.

    摘要: A grinder of solids or solids in liquids has a multiple milling stages. A rotating disc plate carries cutting elements on one side and hammer elements on another, both located at the circumference of the disc plate. The disc plate is rotated in a screened chamber to which the solids or the liquids containing solids to be ground are introduced. Ground product or slurry containing disintegrated solids is passed through the screen before discharged. The use of disc plate and milling elements reduces required torque, leading to improved energy efficiency and results in better performance of the grinder.

    摘要: In a production of liquid food product from protein containing solid food, some enzymes may produce undesirable off-flavor volatiles. Grinding solid food in a liquid under pressure achieves inactivation of enzymes over a wider window of operating temperature than possible in ambient pressure. It also permits proper cooking operation to be performed simultaneously with the grinding. A grinder operated under pressure eliminates certain components and allows the use of come low cost components, such as for making soymilk from soybeans.

Soymilk and a coagulant are transported through a holding tube at a preset rate so that a mixture of soymilk and coagulant remain in the holding tube for a predetermined period of time to effect coagulation. A perforated vertical tubing is used for separating gelatinous product from liquid and pressing it by its own weight.

The flowable material is passed through a pair of closely spaced narrow electrodes at a high speed. The electrodes are applied with a continuous high electric potential. Because the material spends a very little time between the electrodes, it experiences a short pulse of a high electric field which electrocutes bacteria in the flowable material.
