Abstract:
Large-scale matching of videos is performed by matching a set of probe videos against a set of reference videos to determine if they are visually and/or aurally similar. The visual and audio fingerprints of all probe videos and reference videos are divided into subfingerprints, which are divided into LSH bands. The LSH bands of the probe videos are sorted in one list, and the LSH bands of the reference videos are sorted in another list. Then, the two sorted lists are linearly scanned for matching LSH bands. The matching LSH bands are sorted by probe video ID, and each probe video ID is searched to find matches between probe videos and reference videos. Further, an incremental matching process identifies matches as groups of new probe videos and/or new reference videos are added, without unnecessary repetition of matching old probe videos against old reference videos.
Abstract:
A magnet carrier for a moving magnet actuator. The magnet carrier includes a single longitudinal beam extending in the direction of intended motion of magnet carrier and two pairs of transverse ribs, extending from opposite sides of the longitudinal beam. The longitudinal beam and the two pairs of transverse ribs are arranged to engage a pair of substantially planar magnets. The single longitudinal beam and the two pairs of transverse ribs each comprise a lip for engaging a chamfered edge of a pair of substantially planar magnets so that the lip opposes motion of the magnets in a direction perpendicular to the plane of the magnets. The longitudinal beam and the transverse ribs are adhered to the magnets by an adhesive with an elastic modulus of less than 5 MPa and a tensile strain of greater than 100%.
Abstract:
A loudspeaker including a moving magnet motor. The moving magnet motor includes an armature comprising a magnet carrier, and a lever arm, coupling the armature and a pivot. The lever arm further couples the armature and an acoustic diaphragm to transmit motion of the armature to the acoustic diaphragm to cause the acoustic diaphragm to move. The loudspeaker described may be torque balance and moment balanced.
Abstract:
A field hockey stick including a throat and a head adjoining the throat, the head having an upper portion adjacent to the throat and a lower portion, and at least the lower portion of the head defining at least one depression. The throat can also define a throat depression.
Abstract:
A stability control system for road vehicles comprising a limit handling assistance controller which uses video lane detection measurements in conjunction with vehicle dynamics information, including inertial brakes and steering measurements to control vehicle EPS and VSC systems to assist the driver stabilize the vehicle and correct for any lane offset prior to and/or during of understeer, oversteer, split-μ and heavy breaking conditions, and lane changes.
Abstract:
A lacrosse head having a wide catching area and channeled thongs. One embodiment includes a stop member, a left sidewall connected to the stop member, a right sidewall connected to the stop member, and a scoop connecting the left sidewall to the right sidewall opposite the stop member. The scoop is disposed about 25.5 cm from the stop member. The widest point of lacrosse head is in a catching section disposed from about 6 cm to about 17 cm from the stop member. The left sidewall is convex with respect to the interior area of the head at a portion of the left sidewall between the widest point and the scoop. The right sidewall is convex at a portion of the right sidewall between the widest point and the scoop. In another embodiment, the sidewalls rise from the plane of the scoop and include thong holes to provide channeled thongs.
Abstract:
A manufacturing system and method for use in the production of high strength plastic materials which can be used in the construction arts. The system and method includes a central rotary mold element which has vacuum means and cooling means placed inside thereof. Heating elements are positioned exteriorly of the rotary mold. Treated long fiber sheets are introduced to the rotary mold and combined with plastic sheets which are also fed to the mold.
Abstract:
A disposable absorbent article is claimed that comprised a backsheet and an absorbent core and a core coversheet or topsheet, that in use faces the wearer, and one or more cuffs (25, 26), comprising one or more longitudinally extending elastic laminate portion(s) (10), formed by at least an elastic material (12) attached to a supporting sheet (20) of said cuff (25, 26), said laminate portion(s) (10) comprising in at least relaxed and partially contracted state a body-facing surface with a multitude of wrinkles, and whereby said elastic laminate portion (10) has an absolute contracted length Lc and a fully stretched absolute length Ls, whereby at a partial elongation of the elastic laminate potion (10) of ε=0.5: a) said wrinkles have an average wrinkle height Hw of less than 600 micrometers; and b) said laminate portion (10) has an average wrinkle density Dw between 5 and 10 wrinkles per cm.

Abstract:
A method and apparatus are provided. The method is carried out by a notification engine, for delivering to a user equipment a group of incoming notifications from at least one application running on the user equipment. The application running on the user equipment is registered on the notification engine. The method includes: defining at least one criterion for delivering notifications, buffering the incoming notifications, and delivering according to the criterion a group of previously buffered notifications.
