    摘要： A three-dimensional printer uses inkjet-type printheads to rapidly prototype, or print, a three-dimensional model. A powder feeder includes a conveyor system and a metering system to deliver powder to a build area in measured quantities. The powder feeder also includes a vacuum system for loading powder into a feed reservoir or chamber. The vacuum system can also be used to cleanup excess powder. Other powder control features include powder gutters and magnetic powder plows. During printing, a cleaning system operates to remove powder from the printheads. In the event of a printhead or jet failure, the failure can be detected and corrective measures taken automatically. After printing, the model can be depowdered and infiltrated in an enclosure.

    摘要： A modification is presented to improve radar systems, which normally tracks a single target, to enable them to perform a simultaneous search of a large space volume while maintaining track of a selected target. This modification entails an operating process in which a search is conducted with a controlled search pattern and search time so that the antenna is as close as possible to the tracked target position at the search conclusion and antenna slewing time is mimimized. Finally, the present procedure can be implemented while adding as little as a thousand words of memory to the radar system.

The footbed assembly is further adjustable to change the overall length thereof and is adaptable for attachably receiving the seat platform assembly in a plurality of different orientations to achieve the backpack mode and the chair mode.

    摘要： The present application discloses a short-term microbial assay useful in detecting chemical mutagens. A Bacillus subtilis which is infected with a strain of the temperate bacteriophage .phi.105 having a conditional lethal mutation is specifically illustrated. In the assay exogenous DNA from wild-type .phi.105 is reacted with a potential mutagen and then transfected into the B. subtilis carrying a mutated .phi.105 DNA. After plating, an increase in the frequency of clear plaques signifies that the test compound is mutagenic.The present invention provides a short-term mutagenicity test which detects frameshift as well as base substitution mutations induced by chemicals.

    摘要： A controller is described for limiting the rate and acceleration of a device positioned by at least one actuator which responds to a sequence of position commands separated by time intervals incorporating a subtractor for taking the difference of two consecutive position commands to provide a difference signal in vector form, means for determining the magnitude of the difference signal, a comparator for comparing the magnitude of the difference signal with a predetermined value, a switch for coupling the desired position command to the actuator at times the magnitude of the difference signal is less than or equal to the predetermined value, two dividers, two multipliers, an adder and normalizer for providing a new position command between the past command and the desired position command at times the magnitude of the difference signal exceeds the predetermined value. The acceleration is limited after the rate is limited by subtracting the latest position command from the prior position command to determine a new difference signal of the latest time interval which is subtracted from the difference signal of the previous time interval to determine the change in difference signal in vector form between two consecutive time intervals indicative of acceleration. A new position command is arithmetically generated by the use of a comparator, divider, two multipliers, two adders and a normalizer at times the magnitude of the change exceeds a predetermined value to provide a new position command which is both rate limited and acceleration limited. The invention overcomes the problem of actuators driving a device into gimbal stops and provides a means for damping device oscillations about a desired position.
