    摘要: An apparatus and method for testing the flow distribution through a turbine engine fuel manifold and one or more nozzles connected to the manifold. A plurality of individual fluid measurement vessels, at least one for each of the nozzles being tested, collects test fluid pumped through the manifold and the connected nozzles. The level in each of the measurement vessels is periodically sampled during the test. The test fluid flow rate through each of the nozzles is periodically determined based on the periodically sampled levels.

    摘要: A process for the production of medrogestone, in which, in an intermediate step, the solvate 3.beta.,5.alpha.,6.beta.-trihydroxy-6.alpha.,17.alpha.-dimethylpregnan-20-one monomethanolate is obtained as a solid, stable compound by displacing the organic solvent from a solution of of 3.beta.,5.alpha.,6.beta.-trihydroxy-6.alpha.,17.alpha.-dimethylpregnan-20-one with a lower alkanol, and a Diels-Alder adduct of 6-methylene-17.alpha.-methylpregn-4-ene-3,20-dione with maleic anhydride is used as an intermediate for production of the corresponding dicarboxylic acid salt for removal of 6-methylene-17.alpha.-methylpregn-4-ene-3,20-dione contamination of the desired product. Another intermediate, 6.beta.-hydroxy-6.alpha.,17.alpha.-dimethylpregn-4-ene-3,20-dione, has been found to prevent smooth muscle proliferation and is useful in the treatment of atherosclerosis and restinosis.

    摘要: A positive-working liquid electrostatic developer consisting essentially of(A) nonpolar liquid having a Kauri-butanol value of less than 30, present in major amount;(B) thermoplastic resin of an ethylene homopolymer or copolymer of ethylene and at least one other monomer, the resin having as a substituent thereon an ester, ester having substitutents, e.g., hydroxyl, carboxyl, amine, alkyl; an amide, amide having substituents, e.g., hydroxyl, carboxyl, amine, alkyl; or acid halide of a carboxylic acid, the resin being in particulate form having an average particle size by area of less than 10 .mu.m; and(C) nonpolar liquid soluble ionic or zwitterionic compound.Several procedures can be used to prepare the developer, e.g., using toner concentrate, modifying a thermoplastic resin before developer is prepared. Pigments and adjuvants can be present in the developer which is useful in copying, making proofs including digital proofs, lithographic printing plates and resists.

    摘要: A dispenser and component feeder for integration with automated assembly equipment is adapted for the high speed placement of self-orienting components of varying sizes and includes, a linear vibratory chute for transferring the self-orienting components from the storage hopper to an adjustable single roller feed assembly where the self-orienting components are conveyed to a pick-up position, the single roller feed assembly having a roller to facilitate in conveying the self-orienting components, and alternately reciprocating rod members to segregate a self-orienting component at the pick-up position. A pick-up and placement assembly is operative to pick-up the segregated self-orienting component from the pick-up position and move the same to a position for placement on an associated conveyor on the automated assembly equipment.

    摘要: Process for preparation of toner particles for electrostatic imaging comprisingA. dispersing at an elevated temperature in a vessel a thermoplastic resin, a dispersant nonpolar liquid having a Kauri-butanol value of less than 30 and optionally a colorant, the temperature being maintained to plasticize and liquify the resin and below that at which the nonpolar liquid degrades and any component decomposes;B. cooling the dispersion, either(1) with or without stirring to form a gel or solid mass, the shredding and grinding the mass by means of particulate media in the presence of additional liquid;(2) with stirring to form a viscous mixture and grinding by means of particulate media in the presence of additional liquid; or(3) while grinding the particulate media thereby preventing formation of a gel or solid mass in the presence of additional liquid, andC. separating the dispersion of toner particles, average by area particle size less than 10 .mu.m, from particulate media, the improvement whereby there is present, at least during the grinding in step B, 0.5 to 99% by weight of a polar additive having a Kauri-butanol value of at least 30, the percentage based on the total weight of liquid. The dispersion having a concentration of toner particles is useful for the preparation of copies and proofs of various colors.

    摘要: The pick-up nozzle has a large flat inlet face with a gradually tapering housing extending upwardly therefrom to an angularly disposed inclined suction hose attachment. A filter screen is disposed across the inlet face with its periphery seated against a shoulder in the housing. Peripherally spaced feet extend downwardly from the housing periphery to support the screen above any surface upon which the nozzle may rest. A closure disc is spaced beneath the screen with its periphery engaging shoulders in the feet to protect the screen and restrict entrance of liquid thereto to the spaces between the several feet. A single vertical bolt suspends the screen and closure disc from the top of the housing with spacer sleeves thereon to secure the screen and disc in proper spaced position. The closure disc is dished upwardly to leave a space for the head of the bolt above the plane of the bottom of the feet. A float is pivotally attached to the top of the nozzle to maintain the latter at a preferred level in the water.
