摘要： Methods and systems for inserting and replacing swaged probe pins in a lower die portion of a head having an array of micro-holes for receiving the probe pins are disclosed. The methods and systems include the following: swaged probe pins including substantially cylindrical ends and a swaged center portion; and an assembly aid film including an array of slotted holes, each of the slotted holes including a substantially round portion for receiving the substantially cylindrical ends of the swaged probe pins and slot portions for receiving the swaged center portion of the swaged probe pins. The array of slotted holes is configured to properly align the swaged probe pins with the array of micro-holes.

摘要： An impulse fluid jet apparatus having pulse generating circuitry for an impulse jet. The circuitry generates driving a longer pulse exciting the resonant frequency of the jet and a shorter pulse for exciting a higher harmonic frequency of the jet. The longer pulse changes the state of energization of the transducer in the jet to eject a droplet of fluid and the shorter pulse changes the state of energization so as to break off the tail of the droplet.

摘要： A process and apparatus (invention) permitting the distribution of micro or submicro liter or gram (exceptionally small) quantities of liquids and powders, (hereafter materials) in patterns and quantities that are especially well-suited for ophthalmologic patient self-application of drugs to his own eye(s) with substantially no overdose. The invention is thus also highly beneficial in those many topical drug applications where overdoses should be avoided. This is particularly applicable for the eye, where overdoses can have many deleterious medical consequences. Use of the invention permits exceptionally small doses of ophthalmologic drugs. Moreover, it also permits the repeatability of the quantity size of the materials chosen for delivery. In the case of drugs, particularly opthomologic drugs, this means that the invention permits the repeated multiple distribution of the same chosen drug/carrier quantity resulting in a uniform repeatable dosage. Variation of dose from one application to another is very unacceptable. The preferred apparatus of the invention employs a venturi configuration inventively modified which uses gas under pressure to pump exceptionally small quantities of material from a reservoir for delivery. In especially preferred embodiments of the invention, said reservoir is pressurized by at least a quantity of gas at somewhat above atmospheric. prior to the removal of any material by pumping.

The orifices are formed upon an orifice plate such that the distance between the centers of adjacent orifices associated with a single chamber are separated by a predetermined distance greater than the center distance required for drop placement on the recording medium.

The apparatus includes one or more passive thermal radiation sensors that generate a plurality of signals responsive to thermal radiation. A calculation circuit compares the plurality of signals to a threshold condition and outputs an alarm signal when the threshold condition is met, indicating the presence of the object. The method includes detecting thermal radiation from an object at a first and second wavelength and generating a first and second responsive signal. The signals are compared to a threshold condition that indicates whether the object is an intruder.
