摘要: A machine bed for machine tools having two guides lying in separate planes each having two guide ways, namely an approximately horizontal main guide and an additional guide at an angle thereto, in which at least the guide ways of the main guide lie on intersecting tangents or parallels thereof, of a circle whose center is the same as the workpiece and/or tool center of rotation of the machine. To prevent instability of the component groups on the main guide, even in the case of workpieces of great weight and of the occurrence of high machining forces, it is proposed that the intersection M of the perpendiculars of force N-1, B-2, resulting upon the thrust of the component groups on the main guide, be offset from the center of gravity S of a workpiece 16 being machined, such that cumulative torques M-1, M-2, resulting on the basis of the workpiece weight and the machining force FR of the workpiece 15, which will force the component groups carried on the main guide 11, 12, against the rear guide way 12 remote from the operator side A.

摘要: A system and method for remotely controlling an increased number of subsystems having an onboard locomotive control unit (LCU) and two associated operator control units (OCUs) on a single wireless channel. A time slot is assigned to each subsystem for making two-way transmissions to control the locomotive. A signal from an external timing source synchronizes each subsystem to minimize interference between transmissions from different subsystems. Time slots are assigned manually or automatically over a wireless network or by the LCU after monitoring the channel. The LCU automatically selects the direct or repeater transmission path depending upon whether or not it receives polling message responses from its associated OCUs. A GPS receiver in each subsystem receives the synchronization signal and provides geographic positioning data so the LCU can determine when to execute predefined, position-based commands. The secondary OCU may be turned off and rejoined to the subsystem without ceasing operation.

摘要: A turret lathe table having tool holders arranged on at least three concentric reference circles around the center of the table. The tool holders consist of first tool holders for drill tools and inner turning tools and second tool holders for outer turning tools. The first tool holders are arranged exclusively on the innermost and at least one intermediate reference circle, while the second tool holders are arranged only on the outermost reference circle. The spacing between the tool holders is such that a collision-free diameter remains between adjacent tool holders, the collision-free diameter being defined as a diameter equivalent to a workpiece of maximum dimensions capable of being machined by a respective tool in a respective tool holder without interference from tools in adjacent tool holders.

摘要: A gearing system for a lathe is shiftable from a first position, in which conical gear wheels (16, 25, 26, 36) engage each other with play, to a second position, in which the wheels engage each other without play. Reduced wear is achieved in the first position. High precision is achieved in the second position. Preferably, the system also has parallel-toothed gear wheels (15, 24, 35) which are engaged when the conical gear wheels are disengaged.
