摘要： A method of providing halotherapy to the upper portion of the lower respiratory tract includes the steps of operating a dispenser and inhaling. The dispenser contains a dry sodium chloride powder. The user operates the dispenser to release a dosage of the powder for inhalation when the dispenser is aimed into the user's mouth. The user then inhales the dosage of powder through the mouth. Because the powder has a particle size range enabling the powder to target the upper portion of the lower respiratory tract without entering the user's lungs, the dosage of the dry powder provides a concentration at the upper portion sufficient to provide effective halotherapy. The preferred particle size range is from about 5 microns to about 20 microns. The preferred dosage is about 3 milligrams of powder.

摘要： A unidirectional twist-up dispensing device with incremental dosing for dispensing a product is provided. This twist-up dispensing device includes a hollow housing defining a chamber having an open dispensing end and an open actuating end having a interior surface. A piston located within the chamber being limited to translational movement within the chamber. The piston having a top side facing the dispensing end of the housing forming a variable volume portion of the chamber for storing the product. The piston also having a threaded rod extending therefrom opposite the top side. An actuator having a threaded aperture therethrough that engages the interior surface at the actuating end of the housing is also provided. The threaded aperture is concentric in the actuator and the actuator is adapted to rotate with respect to the housing in only one direction. The threaded rod engages the threaded aperture such that advancement of the piston toward the dispensing end occurs when the actuator is rotated, thereby causing the product to be dispensed. An applicator can be attached to the dispensing end of the housing in fluid communication with the variable volume portion of the chamber wherein the product is dispensed through the applicator. The applicator comprises a ferrule and an application portion. The ferrule is attached to the dispensing end of the housing and the application portion has at least one orifice located therein. Several versions of the applicator are illustrated, including a fiber brush and a flocked application surface.

摘要： A child resistant attachment for containers used for storing and dispensing potentially dangerous materials, such as medicament tablets or the like, the attachment being resistant to opening by children but readily openable by adults, particularly adults having impaired manual dexterity of their hands and/or fingers. In a particularly preferred embodiment, the attachment comprises a finish portion including thread ring with an integrally molded annular tab ring or collar generally concentric to the thread ring and a closure which is releasably secured to the thread ring by means of complementary screw threads. The tab ring or collar preferably includes a pair of resiliently deformable spring-like pushtabs containing vertical extensions which engage interlocking pawls on the innermost surface of the closure skirt when the closure is fully assembled onto the finish portion. To remove the closure, the opposed pushtabs must be depressed prior to applying unscrewing torque to the closure to disengage the pushtab extensions from the interlocking pawls on the closure. In a particularly preferred embodiment, the finish portion of the child resistant attachment of the present invention is integrally molded with the container in a ready to use configuration without the need for additional assembly or molding operations. Methods for producing the child resistant attachment and child resistant packages employing it are also disclosed.

In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the dispenser comprises a compressible reservoir, a feed tube, a smooth, substantially non-porous applicator tip, and a tip cover. Compression of the reservoir causes liquid product to flow onto the exposed surface of the applicator tip and form an encapsulating sheet of the liquid product. The liquid product may then be transferred from the applicator tip to the surface to be treated by contacting the surface with the liquid product coated applicator tip.

摘要： A plural-chambered, gravity-activated dispensing device that incrementally dispenses two or more flowable products at a substantially constant, predetermined ratio. In one preferred embodiment of the present invention, an inner container is positioned within an outer container, each container defining a chamber adapted to contain a flowable product, and having a discharge opening therein. An empty third container is sized and positioned within the inner container to impose on the inner chamber's pouring characteristics an effect similar to that imposed on the outer chamber's pouring characteristics by the inner container to thereby achieve a substantially constant dispensing ratio between the pourable products dispensed therefrom. In another particularly preferred embodiment, the effect of the third empty container mentioned above is superimposed on the inner container's shape and position within the outer container, thereby eliminating the third empty container. Also provided are a unique pouring spout and sealing cap to be used in conjunction with dual-chambered dispensing devices of the present invention, as well as a method of making such dispensing devices.

摘要： A delivery system for an oral care substance includes a strip of material having a yield point and thickness such that the strip of material substantially conforms to a shape of a tooth via permanent deformation under a pressure less than about 250,000 Pascals when the delivery system is placed thereagainst. The delivery system also includes an oral care substance applied to the strip of material such that when the delivery system is placed on a surface of the tooth, the substance contacts the surface providing an active onto the surface. The substance also provides adhesive attachment between the strip of material and the surface to hold the delivery system in place for a sufficient time to allow the active to act upon the surface. The substance has an extrusion resistance sufficient to withstand a normal force applied to deform the strip of material so that the substance is not substantially extruded from between the strip of material and the surface during manual deformation of the strip of material. A method of delivery includes pre-coating the strip of material, having the wearer apply substance to the strip of material, or having the wearer apply the substance directly to the surface before applying a strip of material.

摘要： A delivery system for an oral care substance includes a strip of material having a flexural stiffness less than about 50 grams/centimeter as measured on a Handle-O-Meter per ASTM test method D2923-95. The strip of material is readily conformable without permanent deformation to a shape of a tooth and its adjoining soft tissue when the delivery system is placed thereagainst. The delivery system also includes an oral care substance applied to the strip of material such that when the delivery system is placed on a surface of the tooth and its adjoining soft tissue, the substance contacts the surface providing an active onto the surface. The substance also provides adhesive attachment between the strip of material and the surface to hold the delivery system in place for a sufficient time to allow the active to act upon the surface. A method of delivery includes pre-coating the strip of material, having the wearer apply substance to the strip of material, or having the wearer apply the substance directly to the surface before applying a strip of material.
