    摘要: The present invention relates generally to an integrated system and method for humidity control and vapor-phase decontamination of laboratory equipment with a multi-component vapor, one component of which is water vapor. The laboratory equipment can be a sealable enclosure such as an incubator, isolator, glove box, clean room, fume hood, safety cabinet, or centrifuge. The carrier gas flow is preferably in a multiple-pass, closed-loop recirculating mode. The humidity control and decontamination can be carried out automatically without user intervention for an indefinite period of time once the system has been installed, the required utilities connected and the desired settings including temperature and humidity level programmed.The integrated humidity control and decontamination system can be retrofitted onto existing laboratory equipment.

    摘要: The invention provides a method and system for conducting a continuous operation, flowing vapor phase decontamination in either an open loop or a closed loop. Using the method, a multi-component liquid decontaminant is vaporized and delivered into, through and out of a sealable enclosure by means of a carrier gas that is flowing into, through and out of said sealable enclosure. After leaving the enclosure, the vapor is captured in a cold-water bath and decomposed.The invention humidifies the carrier gas by passing it through a temperature controlled water bath to warm, or to cool, the carrier gas as necessary in order to bring the carrier gas to the desired temperature and humidity before it is combined with the vaporized sterilant and allowed to flow into the sealable enclosure. The concentration of the vapor sterilant and the percent saturation of the vapor sterilant are simultaneously controlled by controlling the rate at which the carrier gas flows and the rate at which the liquid sterilant is vaporized. A chilled mirror or other type of dew point sensor can be used to ensure that near saturation conditions are maintained during decontamination.

    摘要: A peritoneal dialysis system includes a removable cassette defining a flexible pump chamber and a pressure sensing area that is fluidly connected to the pump chamber wherein, during operation of the peritoneal dialysis system, peritoneal dialysis fluid is contained in the pump chamber; and a peritoneal dialysis machine configured to secure the removable cassette, peritoneal dialysis machine including (i) a pressure sensor positioned to align with and to contact the pressure sensing area of the removable cassette when the removable cassette is secured to the peritoneal dialysis machine, and (ii) a controller connected to the pressure sensor and adapted to change the operation of the peritoneal dialysis machine in response to changes in pressure sensed by the pressure sensor, wherein the pressure sensor and the pressure sensing area are arranged so that the pressure sensor measures a pressure of fluid in a fluid passage between the pump chamber and a patient during operation of the peritoneal dialysis system.

    摘要: A peritoneal dialysis system includes a cycler operable with a disposable cassette, the cassette connected to a patient line, the cassette capable of fluid communication with a catheter having access to a patient's peritoneal cavity, the cycler configured to: (i) convey dialysis fluid to the peritoneal cavity through the patient line and the catheter during a patient fill phase; (ii) allow the dialysis fluid to dwell within the peritoneal cavity during a patient dwell phase; (iii) convey dialysis fluid away from the peritoneal cavity through the patient line and the catheter during a patient drain phase; and (iv) sense, at first and second sensing locations of the disposable cassette via first and second pressure sensors, an intraperitoneal pressure through the catheter to optimize an amount of fluid conveyed during the patient fill phase, so that the peritoneal cavity is not overpressurized during the patient dwell phase.
