摘要： Mapping is carried out at a point on an elliptic curve to be utilized for elliptic encryption based on identity information (ID information) of each entity and a mapping value is set to be a public key of the entity. By using the mapping value and secret information, a secret key of each entity is generated. The entity generates a common key to be used for an encrypting process and a decrypting process by utilizing the self-secret key and the public key to be the mapping value obtained by mapping at a point on the elliptic curve based on ID information of a communication participate. In this case, pairing on the elliptic curve is utilized.

摘要： A video recording and reproducing apparatus is provided which is capable of, even if the number of elementary streams (ES) of bits of a program to be recorded is too large and all the elementary streams can hardly be recorded, carrying out a recording operation with ease substantially corresponding to the direction of the user. The apparatus allows an ES selector to identify the elementary streams of video data, audio data, and their relevant data video in the stream of bits received from its program selector and, when the number of the elementary streams is higher than a given setting, pick up elementary streams which satisfy the predetermined requirements while deleting the other elementary streams. The elementary streams are then recorded by a recorder/player in the apparatus. Even if the elementary streams of bits are not all recorded, the elementary streams which satisfy the predetermined requirements can readily be recorded.

A first server communicates with a terminal device through the Internet and generates device control data for controlling the device. A second server communicates with the device in a predetermined manner to acquire and store a specific address of the device, generates transmission data for transmission of the received device control data from the first server to the device based on the specific address, and transmits the transmission data to the device. This allows real time control of the device from the terminal device through the network to be realized.

摘要： A remote control system in which an instruction from a remote terminal is transmitted to a controlled device through a remote control device. Device unique data which is information specific to the controlled device is stored in the remote control device or the controlled device. The remote control device generates WEB display data to be displayed on the remote terminal based on a device type of the controlled device and the device unique data. Alternatively, the remote control device generates WEB display data based on the device unique data stored in the controlled device. Thus, even when a new type of controlled device is developed, or even when the function for the controlled device is extended, it does not need to modify programs for achieving functions of the remote control device. Accordingly, it facilitates a change of an operational screen of the terminal in response to those changes.

A digital signal recording apparatus for recording a digital signal having a variable recording rate representing a recording speed, said apparatus comprising a receiving section which receives the digital signal; a recording rate detecting section which detects the recording rate of the digital signal received at the receiving section; a storage section which stores a detected recording rate when said detected recording rate is greater than a previously stored recording rate, whereby said storage section stores a maximum recording rate; and a recording section which is operable to record the digital signal in a recording medium based on the maximum recording rate stored in the storage section.
