A heavy load transport vehicle of variable width has a chassis which has two chassis parts which each support a number of wheel arrangements arranged one behind another, wherein the two chassis parts define a transport platform for the heavy load to be transported. The transport vehicle may have a wheel-free central chassis part arranged between said two lateral chassis parts, and that at least one lateral chassis part is pivotable about a pivot axis in relation to the central chassis part.

The invention relates to a transport vehicle having variable width and track width, a chassis (14) and at least one steering axle (16, 18, 20, 22), wherein the chassis (14) comprises two chassis parts (28) each carrying a row of bogies (60) arranged one after the other and are adjustable transverse to a vertical longitudinal medium plane (26) of the transport vehicle. According to the invention only a single longitudinally adjustable transverse track rod (72) is arranged between the two rows of bogies (60) connecting two bogies (60) of the one or the other steering axle (16, 18, 20, 22) and which length is adjustable according to a degree of enlargement or reduction of the width and track width.

A vehicle combination includes at least one train having multiple driven vehicle modules. The vehicle modules are arranged one behind the other and are mechanically coupled to one another. Each vehicle module has at least one driven axle with at least one drive motor. The vehicle combination has at least one drive device for the drive motors that can generate the drive energy for said drive motors. The vehicle combination has at least one controller by means of which at least the drive motors of the driven axles of the vehicle modules can be actuated. The controller controls the drive motor or at least one of the drive motors of the driven axles of the vehicle modules of the at least one train of the vehicle combination across all the vehicle modules for the incremental selection of the total drive output of the vehicle combination.

The invention relates to a heavy-load transport vehicle (10) for transporting an elongated object, having a tractor (14), a multi-axle trailer (16) and a carrier (18) for the elongated object supported on the trailer and on the tractor (14), wherein the trailer (16) and the carrier (18) are rotatable in relation to each other about a vertical axis (52) of the transport vehicle (10). According to the invention the carrier is supported on the tractor (14) via a goose-neck (22), the trailer (16) has at least one rigid axle (42, 44) and at least one steering axle (40), and in a steering operation mode during the journey, the steering axle (40) of the trailer (16) is steerable in relation to the trailer (16) about the vertical axis (52) as a function of the rotational movements of the carrier (18).

The distance between the at least two load carriers are modifiable in order to modify the width of the transport vehicle. The at least two load carriers of the transport vehicle are connected to one another by at least one articulated twin-arm structure.
