The first lateral upright (3) is arranged in the region of a first distal end (6) and the second lateral upright (4) is arranged in the region of a second distal end (7) of the crosshead (1). The crosshead (1) has a truss support structure (8) between the two lateral uprights (3, 4) by which the upper chord (2) and the lower chord (5) are additionally connected to one another.

    Abstract: A method for controlling a cooling device which is set up to control temperature of a rolling stock such as a metal strip, which runs through a cooling device along a conveying direction of a rolling train. The cooling device is arranged upstream of the rolling train. The method includes determining total enthalpy of a system formed by the rolling stock; determining a measure for the formation of scale, which includes a scale factor that depends on chemical composition and surface temperature of the rolling stock, and a heat transfer coefficient of the scale; calculating a temperature distribution and/or average temperature in the rolling stock based on a temperature calculation model, in which the determined total enthalpy and the measure for the formation of scale are included; and setting a cooling capacity of the cooling device taking into account the calculated temperature distribution and/or average temperature in the rolling stock.

The actual value of an indicator be calculated over a length section of the metal product for the metal product to be produced. The indicator represents the resistance of the metal product to severing or forming processes. The calculated actual value pIst for the indicator p is then compared to a predefined threshold value. The severing or forming also only actually takes place when the actual value of the indicator of the metal product is less than the threshold value. If a comparison should show that the actual value of the indicator is greater than the threshold value, before the severing or forming of the metal product, a local processing of the metal product is performed in the corresponding length section.

    Abstract: A system for winding a rolled product includes a winder having a winding spool, a spool rotator, a distributor guiding positioning of the rolled product towards the spool at an instantaneous winding point, and a distributor translator. A control and command unit coordinates the rotator and the translator according to a predetermined winding program which is a function of predetermined reference operating parameters and of real time operating parameters. The detector includes a laser triangulation profilometer diametrically opposite to the distributor, and continuously detects the surface profile of the coil of rolled product at every added turn. A processing and calculation unit feedback adjusts translation speed of the distributor to minimize a difference between an actual operating parameter calculated based on the profile of the coil in formation detected by the profilometer and the same operating parameter calculated based on theoretical data related to a predetermined ideal coil winding.
