摘要： A medallion assembly for a pneumatic tire, in accordance with the present invention, includes a protruding portion, a fastener, and a medallion. The protruding portion is integrally formed with a sidewall of the tire and extends away from the sidewall of the tire. The protruding portion has an annular tapered outer surface. The fastener has an annular tapered inner surface and an annular outer surface. The annular tapered inner surface engages the annular tapered outer surface of the protruding portion. The medallion has an annular inner surface for engaging the annular outer surface of the fastener such that the medallion is secured to the fastener and both the medallion and the fastener are secured to the protruding portion of the sidewall of the tire.

摘要： The present invention is directed to a self-supporting tire. More specifically, the tire has a carcass, a tread, and a belt reinforcing structure located radially outward of the carcass and radially inward of the tread. The carcass is comprised of a reinforcing ply structure extending between a pair of bead portions and having a geodesic configuration. The tire further includes a pair of sidewalls, each sidewall located radially outward of one of the pair of bead portions, and a pair of inserts located in each sidewall. A first insert and second insert are located between the innerliner and the ply.

摘要： A tire tread for a pneumatic tire has a center rib and a series of steeply slanted grooves in each side region of the tread, the circumferentially adjacent grooves form blocks extending through the tread side regions. The center rib has a serrated configuration along each lateral side and a supporting chamfer extending from each serration point. Adjacent to each rib chamfer is a chamfer extending from the axially innermost point of the rib at the junction of two adjacent steeply slanted grooves. The rib is provided with high density siping. The tread blocks are siped wherein the siping density decreases from the tread center to the tread shoulders.
