摘要:
A vehicle having a profiled tread, having tread blocks (1) in at least some regions of its circumference, characterized in that for at least some of the tread blocks (1) at least the tread block edges (2) running into the tire contact patch (11) and extending at an angle to the central plane of the tire are lowered over their entire length with respect to the central plateau (3) of the respective tread block (1).

A studless tire comprises tread blocks having a narrow-width center portion, a heel-side increasing-width portion and a toe-side increasing-width portion, wherein the axial width of the block becomes minimum in the narrow-width portion and increases toward the heel edge and toe edge in the heel-side and toe-side increasing-width portions, and the minimum width in the narrow-width portion being in the range of from 0.5 to 0.9 times the average of the maximum width in the heel-side increasing-width portion and the maximum width in the toe-side increasing-width portion, whereby the stress produced in the block rubber when a braking force or driving force acts thereon increases the apparent block rigidity to decrease the block edge lifting and thereby uneven wear can be decreased.

A heavy duty pneumatic tire comprising a plurality of block rows provided on a tread surface, each block row being composed of a plurality of blocks formed by a plurality of main grooves extending in a tire circumferential direction and a plurality of lateral grooves intersecting said main grooves, wherein a narrow block is provided, interposing a sub groove, in a position outside each block of block rows adjacent to an inner side of an outermost main groove in a tire width direction; and wherein a surface of said narrow block is formed to be circular-arc by setting a height of a center part of said narrow block surface in the tire circumferential direction to be equal to that of said tread surface and a height of both end parts of said narrow block surface to be lower than that of said tread surface by 1.5 to 2.5 mm.

A pneumatic studless tire comprises a tread provided with a plurality of circumferential grooves, a plurality of lateral grooves and many blocks defined by these circumferential grooves and lateral grooves, in which (1) a plurality of wave-shaped sipes are formed in each of the blocks so as to make them dense at central region of the block in the widthwise direction of the tire and sparse at both side regions thereof, and (2) an amplitude of the wave-shaped sipe in each side region of the block is smaller than that in the central region of the block.

A pneumatic tire has a block pattern which is divided by a center main groove extending straight on the tire equator, two outer main grooves extending straight outside the center main groove, inner lateral grooves crossing between the center and outer main grooves, and outer lateral grooves crossing between the outer main grooves and tread edges so as to make two inner block rows and two outer block rows. The outer lateral grooves cross the outer main grooves, and the inner lateral grooves cross the center main groove at an inclination opposite to an inclination direction of the outer lateral grooves.

A tire tread for a pneumatic tire has a center rib and a series of steeply slanted grooves in each side region of the tread, the circumferentially adjacent grooves form blocks extending through the tread side regions. The center rib has a serrated configuration along each lateral side and a supporting chamfer extending from each serration point. Adjacent to each rib chamfer is a chamfer extending from the axially innermost point of the rib at the junction of two adjacent steeply slanted grooves. The rib is provided with high density siping. The tread blocks are siped wherein the siping density decreases from the tread center to the tread shoulders.

The present invention relates to a tire designed to be fitted on the driving axles of a motor vehicle for medium or heavy load. This tire is provided with a tread comprising a plurality of full-depth transverse grooves and four circumferential series of inclined grooves and four circumferential series of inclined incisions which delimit five circumferential rows of blocks, namely two axially outer rows, two intermediate rows, and one central row lying essentially across the equatorial plane. Each transverse groove extends across the whole width of the tread, and consists of a central portion, located between a pair of consecutive blocks of the central row, and a pair of lateral portions, located between pairs of consecutive blocks of the intermediate and shoulder rows. The two lateral portions of each transverse groove are staggered circumferentially with respect to each other and penetrate into the body of the central row of blocks. The central portion of the transverse groove has a depth of 3 mm, while the depth of the incisions located between the shoulder blocks and the intermediate blocks is less than the depth of the inclined incisions located between the intermediate blocks and the central blocks.

An All Terrain Vehicle Tire (10) for the drive axle positions has a tread (12) having three circumferentially continuous channels (61 62, 63). Two of the channels (62, 63) divide the elongated lugs (40, 42) into an axially inner portion (40A, 42A) and an axially outer portion (40B, 42B). The channels (61, 62, 63) and soil discharge channels (60) between elongated lugs (40, 42) facilitate mud cleaning of the tread (12).

A heavy duty radial tire including a tread portion which is provided with blocks having acute angled corners each defined between a pair of edge lines (3A and 3B) of the block, the acute angled corners being provided with a down slope which becomes steeper from the radially outside to the inside of the tire. Preferably, the size of the slope is 1 to 10 mm along the one edge line (3A), and 1 to 10 mm along the other edge line (3B), and 5 to 13 mm in the radial direction of the tire.

A pneumatic tire for a passenger car wherein a plurality of grooves are disposed on a tread surface to define and form land portions, and kerfs which are open to the grooves at at least one of the ends thereof are disposed on the land portions. At least one stage of step portion is disposed in a step shape on at least one of the groove walls of the grooves, and a plurality of kerfs are disposed on the step portion with smaller gaps than those of the kerfs disposed on the land portions.
