    摘要: A cap has recess containing a porous frit and a graded porosity filter located so fluid from a container to which the cap is connected passes through the filter and out a spout on the cap. The filter porosity is selected to pass product expressed from cellular organisms grown in growth media inside the container while filtering out debris. A cap vent allows positive pressure in the container ullage to expedite filtering and reduce agitation of the container contents. This is not just a cap with a filter but an enabling tool. This tool enables total design change in many processes from previous thinking, allowing for the maximization of purified material, and reduction of multiple steps.

    摘要: A filter vial for separating biological and chemical fluids has a cylindrical sidewall with an open top and a closed bottom. A protrusion extends upwards from the middle of the bottom to form an annular recess. A tubular plunger has an open bottom end to which is fastened an annular cup having an outer sidewall sized to fit into and seal against the vial's sidewall. An inner sidewall of the annular cup holds a filter over an opening in the bottom of the plunger and forms a shaped cavity leading to that filter. The annular cup on the plunger fits into the annular recess in the vial to force fluid from the vial through the filter and into the plunger.

    摘要: A filter vial and piston are provided where the vial has a cylindrical wall with a closed bottom and open top and with the hollow, tubular piston therein. The piston has a position stop located and configured to abut a mating position stop on the vial to limit relative movement of the piston and vial. The position stops are located to stop the distal end of the piston away from the bottom of the vial a distance of about 10-30% the height of the vial. That a material to be dissolved in a liquid in the vial and to remove unwanted molecules from the liquid with the piston forcing the liquid through the filter but not squeezing the slurry of material so as to force it into the filter.

    摘要: An apparatus filters particles from small volumes of liquid in a tubular vial having an open top and closed bottom with a tubular plunger sliding in the vial to force liquid through a filter at the end of the plunger and into a cavity in the plunger. The filter is held by a cap placed over the end of the plunger. The vial's bottom has an upward extending protrusion mating with a conforming recess in the cap to direct liquid to the protraction and filter as the cap abuts the bottom of the vial. Channels in the bottom help direct liquid flow.
