Abstract: An apparatus for collecting and testing a sample is provided. The apparatus includes a test cavity and a collecting component. The test cavity is connected to the collecting component and the test cavity and the collecting component are in a liquid communication. An inner wall of the test cavity is provided with a first step. The collecting component includes a collecting rod and an absorbing element sleeved on the collecting rod. A connecting end of the collecting rod is provided with a barb. A tail end of the barb is tapered. The barb at the connecting end is clamped to the first step to connect the test cavity with the collecting component. A collecting and testing apparatus with an integrated structure is provided. The integrated structure integrates the collection and test of a sample, reduces a product structure and an operation difficulty of subjects.

Abstract: In one example in accordance with the present disclosure, a cell sorting device is described. The cell sorting device includes a microfluidic channel to serially transport individual cells from a volume of cells along a flow path. A sensor disposed in the microfluidic channel distinguishes between a cell to be analyzed and waste fluid. The cell sorting device includes at least two fluid transport devices disposed within the microfluidic channel. The at least two fluid transport devices include a cell ejector to, responsive to detection of a cell to be analyzed, eject the cell to be analyzed from the cell sorting device and a waste transport device to direct the waste fluid to a waste reservoir.

Abstract: A biological sample collection system includes (i) a sample collection vessel having an opening for receiving a biological sample, (ii) a selectively movable valve comprising a core and a collar disposed about the core, and (iii) a sealing cap coupled to the valve and including a reagent chamber for storing a sample preservation reagent. The valve is configured to retain the sample preservation reagent in the reagent chamber when the valve is in a closed configuration. The sealing cap is configured to associate and form a fluid tight connection with the sample collection vessel. Associating the sealing cap with the sample collection vessel causes the valve to be placed in an open configuration in which a fluid vent through the core is placed into fluid communication with the reagent chamber, thereby causing or allowing sample preservation reagent to pass from the regent chamber to the sample collection vessel.

Abstract: Improved fluid collection and test systems and methods provide for a fluid specimen to be collected via a swab with an absorbent sponge-like tip and have a first portion of the collected specimen dispensed into an external vessel (such as a cassette or holder for testing) as a first step, and a second portion of the collected specimen dispenses into a specimen container as a second step. The swab may be compressed by downward compression of the swab in a compression tube with a movable venting gasket/seal having one or more cross members impeding the swab but allowing passage of fluid specimen into an external test vessel or specimen container. Improved swab assemblies have analyte test holders for holding one or more analyte test strips that may be inserted into a “top” end of the swab assembly that is distal from a “bottom” end of the swab assembly that has a sponge-like material for collecting a fluid specimen.
