摘要： Energy dissipative tubes are provided, along with methods of fabricating and installing the energy dissipating tubes. An energy dissipative tube can include a length of tubing, a first resin layer surrounding the outside of the tubing, an expanded metal foil adjacent to the outside of the first resin layer, and a second resin layer surrounding the expanded metal foil and the first resin layer. Another energy dissipative tube can include a length of tubing, a conductive layer adjacent to the outside of the tubing, and an insulative layer adjacent to the conductive layer. A further energy dissipative tube can include a length of tubing, a metal layer adjacent to the outside of the tubing, and a resin layer adjacent to the metal layer.

An aspect of the invention provides a sealing device for connecting an energy dissipative tube having a length of tubing, a first resin layer surrounding the outside of the tubing, a conductive layer adjacent to the outside of the first resin layer, and a second resin layer surrounding the conductive layer and the first resin layer. The sealing device includes one or more penetrating members configured to penetrate the second resin layer and establish electrical continuity with the conductive layer.

摘要： Corrugated tubing (2) having a smooth or semi-smooth bore, and methods for fabricating such tubing are provided. A length of corrugation tubing (2) can be formed with a filler (4) or liner material inside the tubing. The filler material (4) or liner material may yield one or more improved properties such as reducing head (pressure) loss, reducing friction, sound damping, fire resistance, and corrosion resistance. The corrugated tubing with a smooth or semi-smooth bore can be included in a piping system in which a fitting is connected to the tubing.

摘要： A sealing device and method for sealing a length of tubing with a fitting are provided, where the sealing device includes at least one sealing surface formed with a plurality of ridges. The sealing device is particularly useful for sealing at least an end corrugation of tubing in a fitting used in gas and liquid piping systems. The fitting is sized to maintain a generally circular shape of the end corrugation after the corrugation is collapsed between the ridged sealing surface and another sealing surface. In particular, an inner diameter of one or more components of the fitting can be sized such that the corrugated tubing will have a circular profile to provide an optimal seal.

摘要： A fitting incorporating a crimp sealing device and a method of forming a seal between a length of corrugated tubing and the fitting are provided. A sealing crimp is formed over at least one corrugation of the tubing, where the sealing crimp can utilize a preformed bend or bulge to form a crimp and seal. Alternatively, the sealing crimp can apply pressure radially against an outer sleeve of the fitting, such that at least one corrugation of the tubing is compressed axially or radially to form a primary seal. The outer sleeve also can include one or more gaskets arranged between the outer sleeve and the tubing for forming a secondary seal. An inner sleeve can be received radially inside the outer sleeve, and one or more gaskets can be arranged between the inner sleeve and the tubing. Further, a jacket crimp can be applied against an end of the sleeve member to contact a jacket that at least partially covers the tubing.

摘要： A faceted bone screw and a method for manufacturing the same includes a screw thread configuration having facets that are incorporated into one or more of the leading edge, trailing edge or root of the thread. The facets are generally made up of a plurality of transitioning peaks and valleys which vary the depth of the thread and are disposed in one or more locations throughout the threaded portion of the bone screw. The facets operate to reduce the torque required to drive the bone screw into bone, while at the same time operate to assist in anchoring the bone screw within the bone once inserted therein, and thereby reduce the possibility for the screw backing out after insertion.

摘要： A fitting incorporating a bushing for forming a seal between a length of corrugated tubing and the fitting, and methods of actuating the fitting and forming a seal using the fitting and tubing are provided. The tubing can be corrugated stainless steel tubing having a jacket that at least partially covers the tubing. The fitting includes a bushing having a substantially open configuration, the bushing configured to engage at least one corrugation groove. When a nut is advanced, the bushing applies pressure to the tubing to crush at least one initial corrugation to form a metal-to-metal seal that is gas and liquid tight.
