The image forming apparatus including a sheet conveying path which is arranged at the sheet inserting device and which conveys the sheets on which the images are formed at the image forming apparatus main body and the insertion sheet to the post-processing device and a sheet conveying portion which is arranged at the sheet conveying path and which conveys the sheets being capable of accelerating and decelerating is controlled to accelerate sheet conveying speed of the sheets from the image forming apparatus main body from a predetermined conveying speed at the sheet conveying path, to insert the insertion sheet so as to follow a preceding sheet which is accelerated, and to convey the sheets from the image forming apparatus main body and the insertion sheet to the post-processing device after being decelerated to the predetermined conveying speed.

A sheet treating apparatus includes a stacking tray, a delivery rotary member, an endless belt member, and a traction device. The stacking tray has a stacking surface for receiving and stacking sheets thereon and a stopper portion for regulating the end portions of the sheets. The delivery rotary member delivers the sheets to the stacking tray. The endless belt member contacts with and acts on the upper surface of the sheets on the stacking tray, and feeds the delivered sheet so as to pull the end portion thereof into the stopper portion. The traction device pulls a portion of the endless belt member in a predetermined direction. During sheet feeding caused by the endless belt member, the traction device is operated in conformity with the height of the sheets stacked on the stacking tray to thereby control the contact pressure of the endless belt member against the sheets stacked on the stacking tray so as to become substantially constant. The stacking tray is inclined so that the downstream side thereof in the delivery direction of the sheet may become higher. The delivered sheet is switched back to return with the direction thereof changed over, and the stopper portion is provided on the downstream side in the direction of return of the sheet. The endless belt member is supported with a portion of its inner peripheral surface twined around the delivery rotary member and is rotated with the delivery rotary member.

This invention relates to a sheet processing apparatus for stapling multiple sheets with a stapling means and delivering the sheets in folio, comprising two rollers for folding the sheets in folio and projecting means for projecting between the two rollers to fold the sheets in sandwiching the sheets between the two rollers. One roller of the two rollers, at least, is made movable, and a cam member is further provided capable of correcting a projecting position by the projecting means according to traveling of the roller.

The present invention provides a sheet post-treatment apparatus comprising a sheet convey portion having a sheet path and a sheet discharge opening, and a sheet receiving tray portion having a plurality of sheet receiving tray means. Wherein a sheet is transferred between the sheet convey portion and the sheet receiving tray portion, and the sheet convey portion and the sheet receiving tray portion can be shifted relative to each other in an arrangement direction of the sheet receiving tray means whenever the sheet is transferred. Further, there is provided detection means for detecting the fact that the sheet exists between the sheet convey portion and the sheet receiving tray portion.

The sheet feeding apparatus includes sheet position detection means for detecting that an upper surface of a sheet stack supported by said sheet stacking means reaches a position whereat it can be fed by said sheet feeding means, blowing means for blowing air on an end portion of sheets stacked on said sheet stacking means, and control means for controlling said blowing means, wherein at least, either when it has been detected by said sheet position detection means that the sheets reach a position whereat they can be fed, or before a sheet feeding operation by said sheet feeding means is started, said control means performs a blowing operation by said blowing means during predetermined time.
