Abstract: A liquid crystal display device includes a first liquid crystal display panel and a second liquid crystal display panel. The second liquid crystal display panel includes a switching element having light blocking properties, a first light blocking pattern extending in a first direction and having light blocking properties, a second light blocking pattern extending in a second direction and having light blocking properties, and a plurality of light shields having light blocking properties. The first light blocking pattern includes a first light blocking line and a second light blocking line. The light shield is located between a crossline and a symmetry axis within a region in which a spacing between the first light blocking line and the second light blocking line is continuously widen from both ends of the region in the first direction.

The display panel includes a display area, a light transmission area, a first frame area, a crack detection line in the first frame area, and two first connection lines. At least a portion of the crack detection line extends along a circumferential direction of the light transmission area. The crack detection line is connected to the two first connection lines. Each first connection line of the two first connection lines includes a first end connected to the crack detection line and a second end away from the first end. A distance between two first ends of the two first connection lines is larger than a distance between two second ends of the two first connection lines.

Abstract: One aspect of the present disclosure provides a display panel and a display device. The display panel includes an array substrate, an opposite substrate disposed opposite to the array substrate, and a sieve plate between the array substrate and opposite substrate. The sieve plate includes sieve holes penetrating the sieve plate along the thickness direction of the display panel. The display panel further includes electrophoretic particles that include first-color electrophoretic particles. The particle size of at least one of the first-color electrophoretic particles is smaller than the size of the sieve hole. The first-color electrophoretic particle may freely pass through the sieve hole toward the output surface of the display panel.

The second main pixel is divided into a plurality of regions, and has pixel electrodes disposed in the plurality of regions and a plurality of light shields. At least a portion of the plurality of light shields is formed from a switching element that connects to each of the pixel electrodes, and the plurality of light shields is arranged in a staggered manner. The light shields positioned within one set of the regions formed from adjacent regions forms one set of the light shields.
