A system and method for managing COTS devices based on device auto-detection and identification is provided. A network device on a managed network is identified, wherein the network device is identified as a one of a list of one or more network device types supported by the managed network and included in one or more configuration files, and wherein the one or more configuration files further include a list of one or more respective SNMP variables to be monitored for each of the network device types. The respective listing of SNMP variables to be monitored and/or configured is extracted from the one or more configuration files for the identified network device type. A request is then generated to monitor and/or configure the extracted SNMP variables to be monitored for the network device.

The basecoat film-forming composition includes at least one crosslinkable film-forming resin and at least one amphiphilic alcohol having the structural formula: HO—R, wherein R includes a linear hydrocarbon segment having at least seven contiguous carbon atoms. The amphiphilic alcohol is present in an amount ranging from about 0.01 to about 50 weight percent based upon total amount of resin solids of the basecoat film-forming composition. Described are articles having a polyanhydride photochromic coating. The coatings exhibit a Fischer microhardness of from 50 to 130 Newtons per mm2 and desirable photochromic properties, i.e., the formation of darker activated colors and faster rates of photochromic activation and fade when irradiated with ultraviolet light. A multi-component composite coating composition is provided which includes a basecoat deposited from an aqueous basecoat film-forming composition and a transparent topcoat applied over the basecoat, the transparent topcoat being deposited from a topcoat film-forming composition. The topcoat film-forming composition includes one or more crosslinkable film-forming resins and one or more amphiphilic adjuvants including: a water-soluble polar end having at least one terminal hydrophilic group selected from hydroxyl groups, carbamate groups, amide groups and urea groups; and a water-insoluble hydrocarbon end having at least six contiguous carbon atoms. The adjuvant has an acid value of less than 30 and is present in an amount ranging from about 0.01 to about 25 weight percent on a basis of total resin solids of the topcoat film-forming composition.

This invention provides a novel phosphatized polymeric product which is formed by: (a) forming an amine-extended resinous composition having unreacted epoxy groups by mixing, under free-radical initiated polymerization conditions, a polymerizable, ethylenically unsaturated monomeric component and a polyepoxide component; and (b) phosphatizing at least a portion of the unreacted epoxy groups of the resinous composition. The present invention also provides novel coating compositions containing the aforedescribed polymeric product. While these novel coating compositions have a number of different uses, they are particularly useful for application to metal substrates such as can end stock since they result in a cured film which has excellent performance properties such as flexibility and extensibility, adhesion, resistance to boiling liquid pack tests and boiling water taste test results.
