Abstract:
A plasma display panel includes a pair of substrates which are opposite to each other and one of which includes display electrodes (6) and a dielectric layer (8) formed thereon, and the display electrodes (6) are made of a glass material containing 0.1 wt % to 5 wt % of at least one oxide of molybdenum, cerium, copper, tin, manganese, ruthenium, antimony, and iron.
Abstract:
A front plate and a back plate are superposed with each other in parallel, and pressed onto each other. Moreover, the back plate and a gas-blowing jig are brought into close contact with each other. The glass pipe in which a glass fiber filter paper is placed is pressed onto the back plate, with a solid-state glass frit ring interposed therebetween. Thus, by using a glass pipe, a nitrogen, Xe, or Ne gas is supplied into the panel, or the inside of the panel is evacuated.
Abstract:
In a front plate for PDP, which includes: a large number of display electrodes formed in stripes on a substrate; a plurality of terminal groups for connection with an external drive circuit, each terminal group being formed along an edge of the substrate, the edge being extended in a direction orthogonal to an extending direction of the display electrode; and a large number of lead electrodes extended from the display electrodes, respectively, in a non-image display region on the substrate to gather toward any one of the terminal groups without intersecting each other, the lead electrodes being connected to corresponding terminals in the relevant terminal group, respectively, further, a large number of strip-shaped aid members for aiding formation of a dielectric layer are formed in a region located between the adjacent terminal groups. Thus, it is possible to make a circumference of a dielectric layer even although a dielectric material to be used is low in viscosity.
Abstract:
An object of the present invention is to provide a plasma display panel that can suppress the generation of cracks in a dielectric layer, and also improve the yield, and a method for manufacturing such a display panel. A dielectric layer on a front panel is designed to have a two-layer structure in which a first dielectric layer and a second dielectric layer are laminated, and the first dielectric layer is formed through processes in which, after printing or applying a dielectric paste containing a glass frit onto a front substrate so as to cover display electrodes formed thereon as a stripe pattern, drying and firing the resulting substrate at a temperature not less than a softening point of the glass frit, and the second dielectric layer is formed on the first dielectric layer by using a sol-gel method.
