Abstract:
A mortise lock is provided with a reinforcing plate to enhance structural rigidity and robustness for resistance against external destructive pulling forces. The reinforcing plate is disposed in abutment with an exterior cover and a door panel, and is mounted on a mounting post of the exterior cover. The reinforcing plate has a notch to receive and engage a key lock. A securing plate may be disposed between and in abutment with the door panel and a main body of a torsional returning unit which is connected to an exterior handle to further increase structural rigidity.
Abstract:
A re-keyable cylinder lock has a control member to permit or restrict transverse movement of a re-keying unit. The control member is movable axially between first and second positions and transversely to a third position from the second position. In the third position, the re-keying unit moves transversely and disengages from first tumbler pieces. A limit member is provided to prevent the control member from moving axially when no right key is inserted into a plug. A security arm is connected to the control member and is breakable so that destructive forces cannot reach the control member.
Abstract:
A latch-bolt mechanism includes a housing, a latch-bolt, and a drive member. The latch-bolt is movable between an extended position and a retracted position, and includes a bolt body and an engaging member operable to move relative to the bolt body between an engagement position and a disengagement position and having an engaging portion. The drive member has a driving portion. When the engaging member is at the engagement position, the driving portion can be activated to contact and push the engaging portion so as to move the latch-bolt from the extended position to the retracted position. When the engaging member is at the disengagement position, contact between the driving portion and the engaging portion can be prevented.

A latch-bolt mechanism includes a housing, a latch-bolt, and a distance-adjusting device. The latch-bolt is movable relative to the housing between an extended position and a retracted position. The distance-adjusting device includes a movable unit movable in the housing between first and second vertical positions and including a first drive member for driving movement of the latch-bolt from the extended position to the retracted position when the movable unit is disposed at either the first or second vertical positions, and a fastener unit for locking the movable unit releaseably at a selected one of the first and second vertical positions.
Abstract:
A handle knob assembly comprises a knob shell and a lock retainer disposed within the knob shell. The lock retainer includes a hollow drum portion, a hollow neck part extending rearwardly from the drum portion and projecting out of a rear opening of the knob shell, a lock-receiving hole formed in the drum portion and aligned with a key hole of the knob shell, a plurality of annularly spaced apart and axially extending ribs that project radially from an outer periphery of the drum portion, and a ring extending around the ribs and having a distal peripheral end extending toward an inner surface of the knob shell. The construction as such saves the cost of materials and provides sufficient strength to resist radial compressive forces.
Abstract:
A device for holding and adjusting the opening angle of a door includes a first lever having a forked end with two generally parallel lugs which are respectively provided with substantially aligned first and second pivot holes, and a second lever which has a journal member for insertion into the first pivot hole, the journal member having a threaded hole and a first engagement surface. A first detent member is inserted between the parallel lugs and has a pivot slot aligned with the first and second pivot holes. The first detent member further includes a second engagement surface for engagement with the first engagement surface, and a detent face. A resilient second detent member is mounted inside the first lever inwardly of the forked end to engage the detent face.
Abstract:
In a cylinder lock assembly, a latch operating tube has an enlarged end portion extending into an outer drive tube disposed in an outer handle. A locking spindle is disposed in the latch operating tube and has a locking tongue extending radially and outwardly through the outer drive tube to interlock with an outer rose when the locking spindle is pressed by a push button to move to a locked state. A locking plate is sleeved around the locking spindle and has a radial locking part to engage a protrusion that projects radially and inwardly from an inner surface of the enlarged end portion so that the locking spindle is locked against movements to an unlocked state when the locking spindle is in its locked state.

A door lock assembly includes a press button disposed within an inner drive tube and an inner handle. A cam mechanism is provided to associate with the press button and the inner drive tube to rotate the press button when the press button is pressed axially. The cam mechanism includes an inclined cam groove/slot which is formed in one of the inner drive tube and the press button and which extends substantially in a helical direction, and a cam protrusion formed on the other one of the inner drive tube and the press button and extending into the cam groove/slot. A press button rod is connected to the press button for simultaneous rotation with the press button.
